Add to Cart: Five Recent Amazon Purchases

Nov 28, 2023

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the boxes (until he’s forced to break down the mountain of cardboard in our garage on recycling day).  Here are seven recent purchases that are actually worth your time.

Why does every device with a power supply have a light on it?  What kind of sadist adds a light to a baby monitor, a nursery rocking chair, or a wipe warmer?  The first night after we set up our nursery, we learned the hard way just how many bright little lights there are on baby products.  It’s like the manufacturers are engaged in a conspiracy to stop you from sleeping.

These blackout stickers cover up all those annoying blue, green, red and white lights.  Even now that Sloane is a toddler, we still use them on new baby gear, the new wi-fi extender in our bedroom, our new TV, and so much more.  Achieve total darkness in the digital age with these amazing little stickers.

For months, I was putting the Spanx Air Essentials sweatsuit in my cart and then second guessing the pricey purchase.  So when someone suggested that this relaxed set was similar, I bought it in olive immediately.  It’s amazing.  So amazing I bought the black one also.  Very comfortable, a good weight, soft material, and TTS.

This mini-handheld vacuum was following me.  Every mommy-blogger, every influencer seemed to own one…or three.  So I bought one for my bathroom cabinet to suck up hair off the floor.  Now, I use it in every drawer, cabinet and storage bin.  I also asked for one in my stocking so I can keep one in the car.  I have a close, personal relationship with this vacuum.

It’s inevitable, some days I don’t make it out of leggings, but I still need to leave the house looking presentable.  Luckily, it’s winter, so the easiest way to do that is with a cool coat.  This fluffy coat is trendy, oversized and feels like a bathrobe you get to wear outside.  But over leggings and a sweatshirt, it looks like you have time to pay attention to fashion trends.  I sized down.

I’m officially old — I no longer can see the small clock on my computer screen.  To keep time accurately throughout the day, I ordered this big, flashy clock.  I also ordered one for my bedroom so that I don’t have to look at my phone (and see all those notifications) just so I can know what time it is.  It would make a great stocking stuffer for anyone.  Literally anyone.

Same on the AirEssentials, and actually, your set looks better bc it has pockets. I stopped even considering the AirEssentials set once I learned it doesn’t have pockets at all! For that price – I don’t get it. How good can it be?

OMG, these blackout stickers. I’ve never purchased something so quickly in my life (for MYSELF). I am constantly trying to cover up all those annoying, unnecessary lights…and I am the weirdo that is always hanging hand towels all over hotel rooms trying to cover up lights. THANK YOU!!!

I travel with those blackout stickers! I hate being in a hotel room and having all the stupid TV, clock, and random devices’ lights glaring at me. Eye masks make me claustrophobic so these are the answer.

Great post! I’m sure I’ll end up buying at least some of these. Thank you as always for the great recommendations! Two of your recs from the last few months have been particularly incredible for me: tubing mascara (not sure how it took me this long to get around to trying it but OMG I’m a convert for life) and the Dyson V12 Detect. I swear it almost makes vacuuming fun. I can never tell my mother that I actually look forward to vacuuming now, ha!

My Amazon favs this year were:
Precut parchment paper for easy roasting in the oven. Yes, its slightly wasteful and could be cheaper in a roll, but so so easy that I just cant NOT use them. Game changer for me.

I love those stickers too to get my bedroom dark! I also bought the vacuum you recommended… i a thinking about a second one for my car. I am not a fan of the clock. I bought it and it turns out that it has to be plugged in to work, with a USB. It’s cute looking but I don’t have a lot of USB ports on the desk of my office 🙁

Shoe Week: My Office Flats

This weekend, I started the process of clearing out my closet before my birthday at the end of the month. On the shoe shelves are several pairs of dusty high heels that may need new homes. Sure, a few will stay for the occasional conference or night out, but many will be leaving. But what […]
