During the last six months of my pregnancy, my skin was amazing. No acne anywhere. It was like a gift. But those days are gone. The spots are back, and they must be concealed for Zoom interviews.
Hands down, no questions asked, Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage stick is my favorite concealer. Here’s why.
One. Ease of Application. This stick makes applying the product so simple. The correcting side dots on to acne, dark spots, or under-eye darkness with ease. Just a little blend with the fingers and you’re good to go.
Two. The Formula. Many stick concealers that I’ve tried feel like sparkle, but this one is a good medium weight. It’s also not drying. It does not cake up. And you can build it without looking like you smeared pancake batter on your skin.
Three. The Brightener. While not enough to fully conceal my under-eye darkness (hello, baby), the brightener does lighten and brighten. It’s not drying. It does not cake up. And you can build it without looking like you smeared pancake batter on your skin.
Four. Pure Convenience. I don’t carry makeup in my purse, but if I have a big day, I throw this stick in my bag for touch ups.
This concealer sells out everywhere. Sephora is sold out of several colors. Bloomingdale’s seems to have the best selection, but low stock on some shades. If you want some help finding your shade, try Sephora’s shade finder. I wear a 2N.
I’ve even been known to use this concealer as a light foundation when I’m in a hurry. I just over apply and blend in with a dense brush. Pop on some powder, and I’m done. It’s convinced me that I need to try a stick foundation, so if you have a suggestion, leave it in the comments.

Love Merit’s The Minimalist as stick foundation! Actually, I love their whole Five Minute Morning system. It’s the only one I’ve ever tried that lives up to the 5 minute promise and actually looks good.
Yes, so glad to someone else mention this! Excellent product and switched from using tinted moisturizer / serums to this for my daily look.
Hourglass foundation stick is legendary. I have always had problems with foundation and my skin…I either cannot get the color matched, the formula is cakey (liquid, cream, and powder alike), or it makes me breakout. The Hourglass stick is INCREDIBLE. Do not let the price scare you…you do not use much for a full face of application, so it will last a long time. It is buildable, long-wearing, and has a great finish.
Bobbi Brown’s stick foundation is great; I’m blessed with both rosacea and acne, and the BB stick covers redness without looking caked on. Pricey but lasts a long time even with daily use.
This is my all time favorite, even after the formula/color range change. I don’t need concealer with it!
I have blemish prone skin and have used the Maybelline Fit Me stick for years and have one in every bag. It has a main color and then a lighter colored core which blends as it is swiped. I apply directly to face and then distribute by hand. Then I layer more of the main color or lighter core for blemishes as needed. I also really liked the longevity of WellPeople’s stick foundation and my skin liked it, but it needed a dense brush for application.
