I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. // Gilda Radner

+ What’s on your f**k it list?

+ Athleta is having a giant warehouse sale. Filter by size. Loved this camo top.

+ The phrases that kill cover letters and cost you jobs.

+ Saltair makes soap in beautiful packaging that won’t break the bank.

+ A funny thread of e-mail signatures that aren’t “Best.”

+ Lawyers: Meet the Legal Keyboard; it’s a game changer.

+ Advice for someone being ghosted by a friend of 20-years.

+ Try Anthro for every day lingerie. The lace on this set is beautiful.

+ Five Ways to Take a Better Breaks During the Workday.

+ Bloomingdale’s has the best work dresses. I love this peplum dress.

+ “I don’t need my life to be extraordinary.” So moving. #teamorli

+ Have you seen Amazon’s Halo Rise? It’s a sleep tracker and wake up light.

+ 57 killer conversation starters to get you through social situations.

+ This cheek combo – Bobbi Brown Desert Pink and Hourglass Mood Light – is stellar.

+ The sleep advice that no one tells you.

+ Caslon has the best t-shirts (also in plus); this one is a favorite.

+ Can these subject lines get your cold emails noticed?

+ Colored Coats. Raspberry, peacock teal, orchid, or pine green.

+ How to plan and survive a trip with friends.

+ Rack is having a HUGE shoe sale — men, women and kids.

One Interesting Read. Wired discusses what it’s like to grow old online, since our generation is the first to do it.  So is it possible to age gracefully on the Internet?

From @nochill.  In my case, it feels like more than half. A lot more.

Happy Friday! Planning a trip with friends? First step pick wisely and know their travel MO – planners and fly by the seat of the pants types will drive each other bonkers.

    Also link is missing 🙂

My go to networking conversation creators: (1) a la Ted Lasso – what was your best and first concert; (2) have you watched Ted Lasso?; and (3) what was your high school mascot. Associating people to mascots or concerts have helped me remember people at networking event better than I would if I was just trying to remember a name and where they are from.

  3. Diane says:

Regarding the legal keyboard, I have my Microsoft Word auto-correct shortcuts into commonly-used legal words, like “coa” auto-corrects to Court of Appeals, “prp” auto-corrects to “property”, “eee” auto-corrects to employee, “ctt” auto-corrects to “court,” “sct” auto corrects to Supreme Court, and numerous other ones. It’s been lifechanging.

    • Rachel says:

Great idea! Very applicable to my non-law job as well. I also do this on my phone. “@@” becomes my email address. I also have one for my home address and a few others for common phrases.

  4. Heather says:

My go-to conversation starter is “What is keeping you busy lately?” or “What is keeping you interested lately?” I like this because people can answer however they want – their job, their kids, their hobbies, etc. and because it avoids any “what do you do?” awkwardness if someone has recently lost a job or doesn’t like their job, etc.

  5. Shannon says:

My favorite conversation starter is, “does anybody have any cool scars?”

    Instant enthusiasm and storytime.
