A Mini-Edition: Vol. One

Oct 15, 2021

This week has been rough.  We’re at the tail end of an IVF cycle, and the hormones make it feel like someone is wringing my brain out like a towel — I can’t focus, I can’t write.  But I wanted to put up some content, so I thought a mini-version of The Edition might be just the ticket.

Don’t be distracted by emotions like anger, envy, resentment. These just zap energy and waste time. // Notorious RBG (aka. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg)

+ The impact of ‘everyday sexism’ on your promotion.

+ Still the best <$20 concealer I’ve ever used. Ever.

+ Did the pandemic kill the big wedding?

+ Bodysuits are great with suits — try this Open Edit or Free People option.

+ The salmon rice bowl that everyone is eating.

+ One Step Outfit: balloon sleeve top + high-rise jean + kitten heel boot.

+ True crime is rotting our brains.

+ Very intrigued by this ‘hangover prevention patch.’

+ ‘I let go of drinking absurd amounts of water.’

+ 40% off at GAP (GAPVIP) — loving these jersey pants and cardigan.

+ How to be a person who has their life together.

+ This oversized scarf is a total steal at $15.

Good luck with your cycle. You’re in the homestretch you got this!!! I have been there and trust me all the pain and suffering (and waiting omg the waiting) is worth it! I have 2 gorgeous daughters now 6 and 4yo, both via ivf and they are the loves of my life!

  2. Jules says:

Thank you for posting even when you aren’t feeling well. Best of luck.
I have never seen the salmon bowl on the socials, but one of my family’s favorite condiments is sriracha mayo. It’s pre-blended so I don’t have to use mayo and sriracha. I don’t live on the continental US, so I don’t know if they sell it there but my goodness it is good on EVERYTHING.

  3. Sara says:

Sending you good thoughts for this cycle, Abra!

  4. TheLOOP says:

Sending you loads of hugs and good vibes!

Hoping Sephora has that concealer. I am done with Ulta. They can’t get my online order right and their customer service is a joke.

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
