The Find: The Workout Top I Bought 3x

May 10, 2021

This week, I want to talk about the products and pieces that I have bought again and again.  The ones that I tell everyone about.  The products that some of you already own because you caught the first one-through-fifty times I talked about them.

And let’s start with the workout top I own three of, and the fourth is probably getting ordered today.  #notsorry

The Uptempo Top from Athleta is the perfect top for the gym, or not for the gym.  I own this purple, a black, a teal, and I am ordering the light grey today.  It comes in tall and petite, and runs XXS to 3X.

This top is the perfect weight.  It’s not thin, it’s medium-heavy thickness.  The heavier material means that it hangs and wears beautifully.  It also layers over a sleeveless tank with ease, so you can take it off when you get to the gym without being too hot on your walk to the gym.

The length is also worth mentioning.  The longer shirttail hem is great for those of us who love leggings but aren’t as excited about showing off our rear view.  The sleeves are also longer, which is a nice feature on a chilly morning dog-walk.

Athleta also makes this style in a short sleeve, a sleeveless, and a hoodie.  All of which I am sure are fab.

Any recommendations for a yoga top that holds up during inversions so I don’t have to worry about it falling down on my face? Thanks!

I’m so excited for this week of posts! I’m all about things people buy on repeat. I found an Amazon t-shirt dress through you that is my summer uniform. I have it in four colors.

I want to love this top( I have 2) but they are not stink resistant on me. I don’t even wear them working out.

Yeah long-sleeve workout tops are a no-go for me. The armpits quickly get discolored from sweat and deodorant.

I recently bought the sleeveless version of this (since I own four of the long-sleeved and, like you, thought the tank would be similarly great) but was a bit disappointed by the fabric. It’s not the same weight- much thinner. And while I get that it’s a tank so the assumption is it’s being worn in hot weather, it just feels a bit cheap. It’s also not as long, so doesn’t cover my butt the way the long-sleeved one does. I got it on sale so I’ll keep and wear it, but just a warning that it’s not the long-sleeved one with the sleeves lopped off, which is what I was hoping for.

ATHSOCAL is a promo code I saw on Instagram that gives you 20% off any item at Athleta. I used it today to buy myself a pair of work pants that I think Abra suggested. They were on sale, AND I got an additional 20% off.

I have this top in 2 colors and LOVE it. It is definitely NOT a workout top (for me). I am ALWAY ALWAYS ALWAYS an XS at Athleta but I sized up in this top to wear with leggings (30B, petite). Its a perfect transition piece for spring/fall.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.
