Opinion Page: Product Follow-Ups, Pt. IV

Apr 7, 2021

Every now and then, I like to follow up on products that I’ve recommended previously.  Maybe my opinions change, maybe they don’t.  Here are follow-ups few of the products and pieces that  I’ve posted about recently.

This Longline Light Support Bra from Old Navy is perfect or yoga or pilates, or just as a base layer for a Saturday hike.  (Your mileage may vary depending on bra size.)  It’s comfortable, doesn’t roll up at the bottom, and is easy to move around in.

Old Navy has a number of nice sports bras at affordable prices.  I’m also a big fan of their Medium Support Bra.

For work, I have to wear makeup and a mask.  It’s a little bit torturous.  And as much as I love my Wolford silk masks, they do rub off some of my makeup.

I was using Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray to keep my makeup in place, but it’s pricey, and I was going through it quick.  This Milani Make It Last Spray is the perfect dupe.  Holds well, no adverse skin impacts, and cost just $12.

I posted these no-show socks to my Instagram Story a few weeks ago, and I got so, so many questions.  First off, they are 80% cotton, which is an improvement over most of the socks I’ve found re: sweat absorption  Secondly, they are basically invisible when worn with flats or loafers.  And third, they keep the blisters away, while staying in place, so you’re not constantly tugging them up.

For a long time, I used Drybar’s Detox Clear Dry Shampoo.  It’s a good product.  It leaves my hair feeling mostly clean.  But for a full clean feeling, for a washed feeling, for a “hey, it looks like I’m fresh as a daisy feeling,” I need IGK First Class spray.  It’s a little pricey, but for great looking (and feeling) hair on a second or third day without a shampoo, this is the stuff.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
