Long Read. What went wrong in Texas?  How to help Texans recover from disaster.

This summer, I was introduced to the gloriousness of Detroit-style Pizza.  If you love pan pizza, you will fall hard for this crispy, deliciousness.  This recipe from A Cozy Kitchen is a great option.  We’ve also made this one from King Arthur Baking (though with the sauce under the cheese), and it is delicious.

If you want a fun weekend meal to make on date night, definitely try this salty, crispy, perfect pizza.

Thanks for highlighting how to help Texas right now. Last week is the worst disaster I’ve ever seen hit the state, and as a TexPat, my money and my heart is going out to those in need both now, and shortly in the future (as costly plumbing and electric bills come due…) Thanks for using your platform to highlight that need!

  2. Monica T says:

Oh my gosh that pizza! I love deep dish pizza but am always overruled, this looks like a great way to make my style at home, and then make a quick thin crust for the NY Style fans.

Also, that eating disorder article is a great read, and excellent reminder that the unintended consequences of unsolicited comments on ANYones body are real. Doesn’t matter if you think you’re being complimentary.

    • Elizabeth says:

We do this for make-your-own-pizza night at home. 2 like deep dish and 2 don’t – big batch of dough and everyone is happy. The king arthur flour recipe is great!

  3. Sarah says:

Detroit Style Pizza is amazing. Pepperoni with hot honey will win every time!

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
