My productivity is the biggest casualty of COVID.  My to-do list never seems to empty.  My motivation for tasks, both simple and complex, is difficult to summon.  And it feels like it get a little bit worse every day.

Something had to be done.

So this weekend, I sat down for a self strategy session.  The question was: What needs to get done? How much can I really get done without overwhelming myself?

Then, I restructured my to-do list.

At the top of each list, I write “One, Two, Three,” on separate lines, in all caps.  That is what I must get done before 2:00PM.  Then, underneath, I write two bonus things that I can/should/ought to do.  If these get done, great.  If they don’t, they either move up the list or remain as bonuses for the next day.

Everything else gets written below as a reminder.  As long as the top three things get completed, the day is not wasted.  And crossing them off, even it it’s not my ideal level of productivity, still feels really good on days when I just don’t have it together.  (Which is most days right now.)

Looking for good notepads?  I love Russell + Hazel.  I love all of their products.  Their drafter tablet is perfect for notes and doodles.  And their ‘Due Time’ notepad set makes a great intern gift.

Ugh yes I so feel you on the last word. I feel like all motivation left my body months ago and I’m working on fumes – barely getting the must dos done.

Has anyone tried the ballet sweater? I really like the look. Wondering about sizing and quality (for the price)

Yes to checklists and yes to doing what we can until we feel like we can do more. I use Google Keep because I have one time use lists and then lists I reuse every week, checking, unchecking, rechecking until the habit is formed and the list can be forgotten.

Same place here with my productivity. I tried a few different things this year (bullet journaling, Trello, etc.,), but none worked for me. Couldn’t keep it up – only succeeded in growing the list. Thanks for sharing your system.

The Find: My Best Workout Shorts

For eight years, I have worn the same workout shorts. Every year, an influencer tries to sell me new shorts. I order them. I try them on. They pale in comparison to the shorts I already own. I return them.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

Three Outfits I’ll Wear All Spring

When I started this blog, influencers still re-wore clothes. There were no haul videos filled with the latest from Shein before it winds up in a beach in Ghana poisoning the planet. There were no sponsored campaigns delivering fresh wardrobes each month. The content machine doesn’t like reruns.
