Saw It On Social: Vuori Joggers

Jul 15, 2020

The whole premise behind Saw It On Social is that you can’t trust social media hype.  Any brand can buy their way into a few dozen glowing influencer reviews.  You need a review from someone who is picky, who cares about where she puts her money, and who will be brutally honest about whether something is as great as the Instagram ads say.

Usually, that person is me.  But when the product is something that I wouldn’t buy for myself, say a pair of $84 joggers, then I need to reach out to my friend group.  And that’s when I turn to my friend Theresa — lawyer, former Hill Staffer, Army wife, and mother to the fastest moving, most unstoppable two-year-old boy who you have ever met (and I mean, ever).

This woman knows good athleisure wear because she needs clothes that can go from making afternoon snack to chasing her child through Monterey’s tide pools.  Since moving to California for her husband’s job two years ago, Theresa has lived in sleek athleisure wear because that is “the Monterey way.”  Think Big Little Lies costumed by Lululemon.

Vuori Joggers bill themselves as “the pants you will never want to take off.”  They’re moisture wicking, quick drying, and four-way stretch for maximum comfort whether you’re actually working out or just running after a toddler with something in his mouth.  And every review mentions how unbelievably soft and comfortable the fabric is, as do all of the Facebook ads.

So without further ado is Theresa’s reader-requested (#demanded) review of Vuori Joggers.

I kept seeing these pop up on my Instagram and FB but had never heard of them otherwise. After a few months of searching for leggings and joggers that were comfortable but not frumpy, I ordered the Performance Joggers.  I figured why not since they have a free returns policy.

The joggers came in the mail on Monday, and I’ve already worn them three times. It’s Thursday.

Vuroi Jogger Pros:

1. Very lightweight and super soft material, perfect for summer or early fall.

2. Unlike other joggers, they don’t stretch out as much and end up giving you saggy butt throughout the day. This is huge, especially if you don’t have much butt to start with.

3. If you pull them up at the bottom for a more cropped look, they stay up without constant readjusting.

Vuroi Jogger Cons:

1. Not crazy about the white drawstring and would prefer it be the same color as the joggers, but I’m willing to live with it.

2. Taller ladies may find them to be too cropped, but at 5’4” they’re great.

3. $84 for a pair of joggers is a bit steep, but still less expensive than most options from Lululemon or Athleta.

I’m a Mom who lives in Monterey, I am the most qualified person alive to review these joggers, and I really like them.  With some minor tweaks (see drawstring color), I would live in them every day.  When you put them on, it feels like that moment when you curl up on the couch after your child has finally fallen asleep, and there is no better feeling.

***

Theresa’s review of the Vuori Joggers was so glowing, that she even influenced me.  Because when someone who is as picky choosy as I am says something’s good, I believe her.

In addition to the joggers, Vuori also makes an entire line of athleisure wear for both men and women.  Because I’m larger on bottom, I’m scared to death of joggers.  I own one pair, they’re great, but they never leave the house.  So I thought I might try the Vuori Leggings instead.

I ordered the Daily Legging because it had the drawstring and banded ankle look that I would get from the jogger.  It felt a little more relaxed, a little sportier, and like something I didn’t already own.  They arrived yesterday.  I’m wearing them today.  I will probably be wearing them tomorrow too.

Bottom Line: The Vuori brand is your new source for leggings and joggers that cost as much as your work clothes.  The fabrics are sumptuous.  The cuts are flattering.  And I kind of hate you guys for asking me to review a product that I now feel the need to go buy two more of because these pants are not cheap.

As with all Saw It On Social posts, all reviewers purchased the product with their own money.  No gifts or discounts were requested or accepted.  All opinions are our own, but like, for real.

Love the two perspectives on this! I’ve never heard of this brand

  2. Becky says:

Thank you for this review. I am a member of a lawyer mom Peloton group, and the ladies in the group rave about Vuori joggers. I haven’t been able to pull the trigger because I can’t get past the cost, for joggers of all things, but I probably will once the weather cools down. I love the Saw it on Social posts.

  3. Meghan says:

I am OBSESSED with my Vuori joggers. All my girlfriends have them now and we talk regularly about how worth the money they were.

  4. Tracey says:

Honestly, since buying these I have worn them daily and only washed them twice so far. haha Maybe I shouldn’t admit that? They are my fave by far and will be wearing them to my socially distanced team meeting in the park next week.

  5. TheLOOP says:

She had me at “it feels like that moment when you curl up on the couch after your child has finally fallen asleep, and there is no better feeling.” But I have a question – are joggers like jeans as in you wear them quite a few times between washes? Was surprised to see them worn thrice in four days – do you just let them air dry and they are good to go?

  6. Rachel says:

Justice for joggers for tall girls!!

  7. Margi says:

How is the sizing? Is it TTS?

    • Belle says:

The size guide is correct. I ordered a small and a medium because I have 39″ hips. The small’s fit, but were a little snug. The medium’s fit a little better, not too big, and a bit more comfortable.

  8. Jessica says:

I bought those joggers about 3 months ago and I love them! They really are soft, but they do not pill and they are not at all see-through, at least in the day gray. The material is light enough that I was concerned they would not hold up, but I’ve been wearing them at least weekly, and washing and drying them on the regular cycles, and they still look as good as new. (For the person who asked, I do sometimes wear them twice between washings! Since they aren’t cotton, they don’t seem to get dirty very quickly.) I wear a size 12 or 14 in jeans and I was concerned that these would not be flattering, but they actually look great. They don’t cling despite the soft, thin material, and they don’t sag. I will likely pick up another pair as part of my fall work wardrobe, since it seems like I’ll still be working from home — these joggers are definitely making the best of that arrangement!

    • TifFany says:

Sold! You probably won’t see this, but i am a similar size—what size do you recommend getting?

      • Melissa says:

Tiffany, FWIW, I am a very solid 12 (def not smaller). I bought the XL joggers first and they were way too big. The L are very good and fit perfectly. These are just ridiculously flattering for joggers.

  9. Emily P Wilson says:

My husband is an avid surfer and LOVES his vuori shorts. He has two pairs of them and that’s all he wears in the pool, ocean and even around the house. And his first pair is over three years old but is just starting to show their age. For the way he uses them, that’s impressive.

  10. Dismal science says:

They sound fabulous, and I sure appreciate the review. I may even buy them once it is no longer like Hades here in FL. That said, I’ve been wearing my $7.99 Costco joggers for 2 days now, and they are freaking awesome. They don’t even have a drawstring, so I don’t have to worry about its color. Highly recommend!

  11. Jo says:

I LOVE my Vuoris. Bought my husband a pair a few years ago from REI for Christmas; now he has 4 pairs and I have 3 and we’ve gifted them to our parents, brothers, and friends. IMO they fit TTS for both men and women. I have both size small and medium; I’m 5’2″ and used to wear a 4/6 and so bought smalls at that time. Now I’m more like a 6/8 and so I have a medium. The smalls fit more closely but both sizes are still very, very comfortable.

I had the stitching in the waistband of one of my pairs come loose. Sent an email to the company with a photo so they could be aware this happened in case they make future modifications, and they sent me a BRAND NEW pair that I received in 2 days in the early days of the pandemic. I’m a customer for LIFE.

The only thing I would add is – if you live in a very warm climate YMMV. I live in Los Angeles and these joggers only come out when it is 80 degrees or lower, which is to say not at all in summer except maybe at night. I wear them all fall/winter/spring, though.

  12. Rosanne says:

What about for us tall girls with generous bottoms, a la Kardashian proportions? I find joggers to be generally too short in the back rise so I get either major saggy behind, major crack display, or BOTH! I love the relaxed look and feel of joggers while standing, but I can’t deal with those issues once I’m actually mobile…

  13. Melissa says:

Love my Vuori joggers. Jessica’s review sums it up perfectly.
Can you please have Theresa talk more about “sleek athleisure wear”? Always looking for tips on everyday athleisure and how to merge athleisure into work-wear while having a bit of polish so it doesn’t look like I’m going to/coming from the gym. I think it’s in the shoes and accessories, but will take any new tips.

  14. Jamie says:

My husband lives in the shorts. I have to pry them off of him to wash them. He bought a pair for his dad for Father’s Day- also obsessed. Buy a pair for Kyle- instant amazing wife points! I also love the leggings- going to try the joggers now after reading this!

  15. Jen says:

Love the Saw It On Social series! I like the idea of reviews from other (carefully vetted) people if the product doesn’t speak to you. I think it’s such a fun series and it’s definitely some welcome “fluffy” reading in these crazy times!

I hadn’t heard about these joggers before and now I want them!

  16. Jill says:

Thank you so much for this review! I love these posts. I’ve been debating this purchase for months and so appreciate the honest feedback. On a completely unrelated note, how do you join the lawyer mom Peloton group?! I’m a digital member, but that app has saved my life for the past 4 months!

  17. Hh says:

Is Theresa on IG? I’d love to follow her if she posts outfit pics, or see who she follows. Sleek athleisure is becoming my goal/reality.

  18. Mackenzie says:

I have purchased two shirts and two of their shorts and I LOVE them. I first purchased for a trip to Costa Rica during rainy season. I can confirm that they are quick drying after getting drenched in a rainforest waterfall. They were dry by the end of the hike. They also didn’t rub while I hiked back wearing wet clothes. I think they are more comfortable than lulu.

    • Mackenzie says:

Also, my husband has the men’s joggers and he wears them all winter and used to wear them on long work flights to Prague and Singapore. He said that they did not stretch out or have any sort of smell after a flight from NYC to Singapore (which is like a million hour flight).

  19. Kim says:

For the board-short wearers in your life: their swimsuits are beloved by my partner.

  20. MelIssa says:

I now LOVE this brand…joggers, leggings, tops. Try their tanks (fitted without being tight). I live in their clothes, especially since I never leave the house.

  21. Elz says:

I found a sale on this line at Sun and Ski Sports. Given you and your friend’s reviews and all the positive comments, I bought a couple options to make this eternal WFH a little bit better!

  22. Cincinnance says:

I have always been a Lulu fanatic but I am obsessed with these joggers. They are my daily wfh uniform. Can’t wait for my camo pair to be delivered!

  23. Madison Huffman says:

I love this review! New customers receive 20% off online which is a substantial discount, don’t hesitate, buy everything you can! I bought the joggers and pullover to compare to lulu and vuori blows them out of the park. Quality, price, comfort. I’m in love.
