This was a good roundup. The article on the career phases had me nodding and face palming because I swore I would navigate my 30s better and yet here I am – one kid, pregnant, and totally clueless about where / what to do career-wise.
Did the Adele link mean to say “why can’t we stop talking about it?” I thought that’s be more fitting
It did. It seems odd that she’s not talking about it, and yet, everyone else is.
I have a blazer similar to that pink blazer (a few years old so not puff sleeve) and it’s great for summer. Cute for dresses or jeans.
I hope the part about the 40s and career is true. I’m 37 and basically any day that I don’t kill one of my kids or someone at work, I consider a success. My 30s totally coincided with the kid having and the getting promoted so these days I feel like I don’t have any energy to do anything beyond flop in bed myself after surviving the work day and the small kids are down.
Same. My coworkers with older children say it gets better, but every day with everyone in the house has been a struggle. I don’t even watch cheezy TV anymore, I’m so tired! Here’s hoping it gets better for you too!
The article on career phases was pretty interesting – I just got promoted to project management and I’m in my early 30s. I’m single, but it’s not by choice, yet looking at the article, in some ways I guess it’s good I got promoted to this level now before I have more responsibilities like a husband and children. On the flip side, if I am lucky enough to find someone to marry and have kids with before I’m 40, the article kind of gives me hope that maybe in my late 40s & in my 50s I can rise to leadership positions and become a role model for any younger women of color in engineering/construction.
