Saw It On Social: Gem Vitamin Bites

Feb 10, 2020

By now, you know how Saw It On Social works.  I Google something, and my Facebook feed is flooded with ads for related products.  I buy them, try them, and review them.  Because with so many new brands paying for sponsored influencer content, it can be tough to get an honest read on a product.

Earlier this year, I was on the hunt for a daily vitamin that I might actually want to take.  I’ve intermittently tried to make taking vitamins a daily habit, but I’ve had no success.  Some vitamins taste terrible.  Others are so large that they’re difficult to swallow.  And still others make me nauseous.

I thought gummy vitamins might help.  But I’m allergic to the binder they use in some versions, and it’s not worth risking the reaction since the ingredient is rarely listed on the packaging.

So when Gem Vitamins popped into my feed, I decided to give them a look. One of the nice things about the Gem vitamins is that you can buy a one-week sample size if you don’t want to commit to a full tin.  So I picked up the trial size for this review.

Gem vitamins are developed with “13 real ingredients” including dates, red algae and spirulina.  The ingredients were chosen and developed to provide 15 nutrients essential to women’s health.  The company claims that the ingredients not only provide for your health, but also help boost mood and energy.

The vitamins are developed in small one-inch cubes, that looks like a chopped up energy bar.  The cubes come in three flavors — peppermint, cacao, and lemon.  They also make limited runs of chocolate covered peppermint.

I ordered the cacao, and I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor.  It tasted a bit like eating cocoa nibs, but you can taste some of the other ingredients.  They have a very earthy flavor, but I enjoy it.  It tastes like the energy bites they sell at the health food store.

Beyond the taste, I found that even after a few days, I noticed that I had more energy after taking the vitamins.  I also didn’t experience any nausea.  And I like that the vitamins aren’t packed with fillers.

Once my sample ran out, I decided to purchase a subscription to the Gem vitamins.  I find them much easier to take than regular vitamins.  I have more energy when I take them, and I’ve been able to take them consistently for almost six-weeks (a feat I could never manage with other vitamins).

I have the same struggle with vitamins! I’m ordering a trial now.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I have innumerable food allergies/sensitivities and this looks like it might be something I could actually take. I really appreciate the ideas and suggestions you bring forward and share not just about clothes but things like this! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I am totally intrigued. Unfortunately there were all sold out of the trial size of cacao, so I took a risk and ordered the full size.

They’re very good about sending a text to remind you that your next delivery is coming. So if you don’t like them, they won’t stealthily keep charging you for them, you can just cancel when you get the text.

I keep seeing this advertised, but couldn’t find any real reviews. Really appreciate yours. I went to order and saw they have a referral program – do you have a referral link?

I have ordered and received the GEM vitamins but I have noticed when comparing them to vita fusion women vitamins a considerable difference in the daily values being offered. Should this be a concern for women? GEM offers a lot of different vitamins that others don’t but when you compare the basic vitamins they come up seriously less. Please respond

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
