The Range: Velvet Skirts

Oct 11, 2019

While it’s only October, holiday planning is already beginning.   Whose home are we celebrating at this year?  Are we giving gifts? Who is hosting parties that we need to attend?   And with those plans come the inevitable question, “What will I wear?”

This season, I’m feeling velvet pieces.  I have a professional association event that I already have an invite for, so I’ve decided to pair a white button-up shirt with a velvet skirt and simple accessories.  It’s a bit festive and a bit professional.

I’m looking for some cute Christmas pajamas for a day with the in-laws (we have young nieces and nephews). Maybe an idea for a future post?

I normally don’t like velvet but those Eloquii and Maeve Kelly skirts are gorgeous!

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

Three Outfits I’ll Wear All Spring

When I started this blog, influencers still re-wore clothes. There were no haul videos filled with the latest from Shein before it winds up in a beach in Ghana poisoning the planet. There were no sponsored campaigns delivering fresh wardrobes each month. The content machine doesn’t like reruns.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
