The Range: Long Chain Necklaces

Sep 27, 2019

Long necklaces are the simplest way to accessorize dresses.  Throw one on, and your look is instantly punched up.  These long necklaces are simpler than the ones I usually feature, but simple is more versatile.

I hesitate to wear long chain necklaces because I am shall we say, ample of bosom & belly.

Is this just something I should get over, or are there tips people have? I love the look on others, but feel like it either doesn’t suit me, or I’m doing it wrong.

    • Sarah says:

I think I’ve got a similar body type, and i love a long chain necklace. The trick is that they have to be long enough (so that they’re not on the bust line or dangling right below) and they can’t be too delicate. For more delicate necklaces, wear multiples.

    • Roberta Hunter says:

I am also ample, and find long necklaces collapse to the center between my breasts. I love how they look on others, so would love advice on how to avoid this.

      • Michelle says:

it might be your bra making the necklaces collapse to the middle. When I wear an unlined or thin lace bra and then a thinner top like silk I have this problem. If I wear a lined bra and/or a thicker top like a ponte or wool it doesn’t happen to me.

I tend to stick to pendants for the most flattering look.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

The Find: My Best Workout Shorts

For eight years, I have worn the same workout shorts. Every year, an influencer tries to sell me new shorts. I order them. I try them on. They pale in comparison to the shorts I already own. I return them.
