On Taking a Needed Hiatus

Jun 27, 2019

Good Morning:

The blog is going to be on hiatus until Monday.

Like so many overachieving women, I have a tendency to take on too much.  I need a couple of days to clear my to-do list.  Plus, when life gets frenetic, even I need to admit that the content here gets stale.

CHS and the community we’ve built here, and on Facebook, are some of my proudest accomplishments.  When they suffer because of work that I’m not passionate about, I feel like I’m letting you down.  So I need to refocus and choose the work that means the most to me and put that first.

I will see you Monday, I hope you all have a great weekend.

Good for you! Have a fabulous hiatus and enjoy your weekend!

Because I think of you as a living breathing human, rather than a machine here to churn out entertainment for me, I would never be disappointed by your content. I’m sure the majority of your readers feel the same, so please enjoy your hiatus sans guilty conscience. We will be here when you get back.

Want to 2nd Monica! We will be here when you get back so you should definitely enjoy your hiatus guilt free! So glad you are taking a break for yourself and I think many of your readers, myself included, similarly find it difficult to give ourselves similar breaks. We are lucky to have you to set a good example and remind us that it truly is okay!

  3. NICOLE says:

I agree with my fellow commenters! Breaks are *so* important. Take the time you need to take care of yourself, we’ll be here! <3

  4. Michelle says:

Enjoy the break Belle! I hope you have good weather so you can make yourself one of those delicious summer cocktails you always post and relax outside!

  5. Sally says:

I agree with the other commenters. Enjoy your well-deserved break. I just prayed that you would find physical and spiritual rest during your hiatus.

  6. Maddy says:

Have a wonderful, well deserved break!

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
