Judge a man by his questions rather than his answers. — Voltaire

Trend. Habits of Highly Successful Women.

Sold. Women’s Half-Yearly is on until June 2.  This red bucket bag caught my eye.

Smooth. Tips for getting the best at-home blowout (ft. my favorite hair dryer).

Beach. I love Summersalt for swimwear.  Love the pink and red combo.

Proper. Office etiquette for beginners, a refresher for the rest of us.

Flare. This $39 Donna Morgan dress looks great in person, comes in eight colors.

Cleanse. A bare minimum skincare routine for minimalists.

Adorn. Loving this layered necklace. And these ear cuffs, to die for.

Kept. Vox asked the male 2020 candidates what they do for childcare.

Apply. Sephora’s $70 brush set is worth every penny.  Love mine.

Sorry. Why a good apology still matters in the age of over apologizing.

Cheeky. I can’t decide if I find this Ban.do t-shirt amusing or upsetting…

Living in a mid-size city, most weekends includes a BBQ at someone’s house. By the end of the summer, I get so tired of eating burgers and hot dogs.  I need something different.

These Chicken Kabobs are a great idea.  Any skewers are really.  You can add any sauce to the chicken you want from barbecue to Asian flavors.  I like to grill skewers of vegetables separately.  We’ve also done grilled fruit skewers, peaches work great with honey and marscapone.

Kabobs are simple, and a nice break from cheeseburgers.

I’ve seen Summersalt suits popping up on a lot of targeted ads recently, but I haven’t seen them anywhere local that carries them. For those who have tried on our bought them, how do you find the sizing?

    • Siri says:

I got two Summersalt suits for my honeymoon last year – I bought online, but they have free exchanges so I just ordered a few options. I ended up keeping two (the plunge one-piece and a bikini). I ended up keeping my usual size, so I’d say they are pretty true to size. I loved wearing them, they looked good, and they’ve held up well so far.

    • POMPOM says:

They are a direct-to-consumer company, so you may not find them in a store anywhere. The buy and try model seems like an odd one for bathing suits 😉

  2. Rachel says:

I love the look of the summarsalt suits, but I still want tankinis! Why oh why can’t I have full coverage and the ability to use the bathroom easily!

    • sunnyia says:

Athleta is the best place for tankinis that don’t look like grandma suits!

      • sunnyia says:

p.s. Why aren’t you just pulling the crotch to the side when you use the toilet?! I learned the trick when I was on swim team and have never looked back.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
