A Simple Tote for Spring

Last week, I posted a photo to my Instagram stories, and my tote bag was in the background of the photo. Dozens of you messaged me to ask who made the bag. The answer? Everlane.
I usually carry the Cuyana Trapeze Satchel ($395) as my every day laptop bag, but I wanted something fresher for spring. I decided that this Everlane Day Market Tote ($175) in was the bag for me.
The bag comes in seven color choices. I selected the pale, almost-neutral blush hue. It has a hint of spring but doesn’t clash with other colors. With a pale color, you always worry about it getting dirty, but it hasn’t been a problem so far.
The quality of the bag is solid. It has a rough-finish interior and just one pocket. Since a tote without pockets can quickly turn into a vacuous black hole from which nothing ever emerges, I decided to buy an after-market organizer to go inside.
This Pelikus felt organizer is a good choice. It’s the right width of the bag, and since the corners of the organizer are flexible, I can wedge a water bottle or Zojirushi into the small gap and it stays standing upright (you can see it on my Instastories). The tote makes it easy to find things and helps the bag keep its shape.
It’s a great bag for the spring season (whenever it arrives in Montana), and the organizer makes it a wonderful bag.

I have the exact same tote and I love it. I clicked over to the link of the organizer and I noticed it comes in different sizes. Which size did you get? That is such a good idea!

I also have the Day Market Tote in cognac and I LOVE it. I love the idea of the organizer even though I have individual pouches in there now, it still becomes kind of a mess, especially if it tips over in my car or something. This seems like it will keep the bottom shaped better.
Abra, would you be willing to do a review of the Cuyana satchel?? I’ve had my eye one it for a while. How heavy is it with a laptop and by itself? Is it holding up to the wear and tear of a laptop and other work needs? I trust your honest reviews.
I’ve also had my eye on the Cuyana Trapeze Satchel & would love to hear your review Abra! And which color do you have? I was thinking of getting the Stone color so that it would be better suited for year round wear, but the color didn’t seem quite right in person.
Yes, agreed, please do a review of the Trapeze bag. I love it but trust and rely on your honest reviews! (Also I basically buy every bag you recommend – Dagne Dover Simone, Lo and Sons, the list goes on!)
Yes, as much as I want to spend the money on that Everlane tote (gorgeous!) I think I will start with ordering the bag organizer you recommend.
I have the Cuyana Trapeze in the burgundy and love it, with one complaint (which may not be a problem for others). I wish the handles were a little longer so it fit over my shoulder without using the cross-body strap, is adjustable so the bag can be carried cross-body or over the shoulder. I find when fully-loaded, the cross-body strap is a little flimsy for use without putting the bag cross-body. Otherwise, quality of leather and design is top-notch. It gets all the compliments.
Ooh when I saw your gorgeous tote on insta I was hoping you’d share more – thanks! I love the inner insert. I have a Neverfull GM tote and I need to get the inside looking as near as yours. Buying that insert now!
