The Range: Open Cardigans

Jan 9, 2019

An open cardigan is the perfect topper for keeping warm in a chilly office.  It’s cozy, and looks great layered over professional pieces.  Her are some lovely options.

Sometimes the “corner office” pieces don’t look any better to me than the less expensive options but man, it’s certainly obvious regarding cardigans. Maybe that’s why I’m never happy with the ones I’ve bought in the past. I might have to bite the bullet and spend a bit more this time. Thanks for sharing, as always.

  2. J says:

I’d like something along these lines, but I always struggle with how messy and frumpy the pockets look in sweaters like these. I am casually on the look out for one without pockets but haven’t seen one I love yet.

  3. ASHLEY says:

These types of sweaters would not fly in my formal side of business-casual office – too casual, so I have trouble seeing them over what I would consider professional pieces. They always remind me of the cardigans and “housecoats” my grandmother used to wear and I can’t bring myself to get on this trend even outside the office. If I need a cozy sweater for the office, I go for the Bobeau one button fleece wrap cardigan or I have a couple of open, swingy waterfall-esque jackets that usually do the trick over a lightweight sweater.

    • Jamie says:

That’s interesting to me because I think these seem more professional than the waterfall style cardigans – those have always seemed VERY casual to me. Different strokes, I suppose.

  4. Evie says:

The J. Crew Sophie sweater blazer is a new favorite for me (and looking at the reviews, I’m not the only one!). I often struggle with layering long-sleeved shirts under a cardigan, but the Sophie’s sleeves are wide enough to accommodate my button-downs. The knit fabric and pockets makes it look and feel comfy, yet the collar gives it some polish.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
