The Range: For the Love of Pajamas

Dec 10, 2018

At some point, after Kyle and I started dating, I stopped wearing pajamas.  Boyshorts and a t-shirt became my uniform.  But last month, I bought these wonderfully soft Nordstrom pajamas that I’ve been wearing non-stop.  And I am never going back.

I had forgotten the simple, sumptuous pleasure of slipping into a cozy pair of pajamas.  The comfort of feeling ready for bed.  It’s one of the simple joys of childhood.

Also wearing real pajamas separates your daytime life from your sleeping life.  Washing my face, putting my phone away, turning the lights low, and slipping into real pajamas has given me a bedtime routine that (to my surprise) seems to have made falling asleep easier.  It’s like a mental invitation to be ready for bed.

Want to bring real pajamas back into your life?  Or just buy a few new pairs for 2019?  Here are a few pairs that I love.  And if you want more choices, check my Shopstyle page for more styles (including some fun holiday picks).

Did you get the Nordstrom Lingerie pj set? I have them in four colors. in the long. And another three in the short. So good.

  2. Jules says:

I sweat so much when I sleep and wash them so often they get so ratty so quick. I think I’ll stick to my free race tshirts and old shorts 🙂

  3. Susan says:

While J Crew has been spotty lately for both quality and style, these pajamas I can attest are THE BEST. I have them in every color and they last. They are comfortable, stylish and Abra, I completely concur, as a fellow insomniac they HELP ME SLEEP. Even though I really don’t understand why lol.

  4. Jill says:

Love this. Costco often has great pajamas.

  5. Brandi says:

But don’t the legs ride up? That’s why I stopped wearing pajamas. I can’t seem to stand crawling into bed and getting comfy to have to move to get the openings of the pants back to where they should be on my legs.

    • Belle says:

I’ve been wearing the Nordstrom Lingerie ones. The fabric is so soft, even if they do ride up, I don’t really notice. With the cotton poplin ones I do.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
