Yesterday, I was picking up our smallest dog, Sophie, when something awful happened.  She half-jumped, half-fell from my arms.  It was terrifying.

Sophie has had a hard-knock life, and is tough as nails, so to hear her scream like she was dying, woof.  Luckily, Kyle stepped in a calmed her down enough I could take her to the veterinarian.  Poor little babe dislocated her patella.  She still won’t put any weight on it.  And as grateful as I am that it isn’t a broken bone, I still feel like a terrible pup parent.

Guess Sophie is going to get the princess-treatment for a while.  If you need me, I’ll be hand-feeding a dog and giving her belly rubs until further notice.

It’s chilly in Washington state.  During the day, no problem.  Taking the dogs outside after the sun goes down, so cold.
