Quote of the Day.

What would you do if you weren’t afraid? — Sheryl Sandberg.

The Top Story.

What am I going to do with my life? (Powerpoint)

I’m feeling a little stuck, right now.  In a rut.  This powerpoint made by Millie Tran is a great resource for anyone who feels that way about their career.  It helps you think about your future in a different way, and really focuses your thought process.

Today’s Links and Reads.

1) Work dresses with sleeves: this Antonio Melani, this Adrianna Papell, this plus-size LOST.

2) I work too hard, and I’m still poor and miserable. (The Cut)

3) Anh posted this Insta, and I ran right out and bought Spanx Arm Tights.

4) Meet the heroine in every rom-com written by a man. (McSweeney’s)

5) J.Crew’s bodysuit dress shirts, yay or nay? The turtleneck is nice, too.

6) Will Ben Franklin’s timeline help your productivity? (The Cut)

7) Do I need a blush puffer coat? I think I need a blush puffer coat.

8) Half of men think there are ‘enough’ women in leadership roles. (CNBC)

The Daily Ws.

What I Think I Need. Three words: Velvet Moto Jacket.

What I’m Listening To. Weirdly obsessed with Macklemore, Glorious.

What I’m Eating. This Kalbi marinade, can’t get enough.

Instagram of the Day.

Every dish Food52 posts always looks amazing.  Even things I would never eat in a million years.  Even things I’m allergic to.  I still want them.  Their Instagram is incredible, their blog is even better.

  1. Sara says:

I’ve had my eye on those dress shirt bodysutis from J Crew for a while – my biggest complaint with dress shirts is the endless tucking. The only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger is that my office is super casual so I don’t think I’d get much wear out of them. If anyone does try them, though, let me know what you think!

  2. Anna says:

I am in love with that velvet moto jacket but they are all out of smalls. Any similar options? I’m devastated I missed out on this…

  3. Deb says:

    Love the Macklemore tune also!

Happy Hour: Atlantic Beach Pie

There are two kinds of people in this world: People who eat cake on their birthdays and people who don’t.  And some of the weirdos in the latter category (I said what I said) eat pie as an alternative.  So if you’re a “birthday pie” eater with a late summer celebration coming up, may I […]

The Find: Bright and Striped

For the past few years, the wardrobes of many influencers have tilted toward the beige and boring.  I’m all for a good basic, but staple pieces can only take you so far.  Sometimes, you need to wear something that has a little something extra, and this sale-priced tee certainly does.
