Yesterday, I showed this H&M Wrapover Blouse ($35) as the item of the week. While it’s best suited to casual wear, it can also be worn in a business casual workplace or on casual Friday. Here are a few ways to style your wrapover blouse.
Upper Left. Factory Cotton Skirt ($30) // Nine West Shawn Ankle Strap ($60) // Anna Beck Drop Necklace ($155)
The simplest of the three looks, this outfit is perfect for a casual Monday (no meeting) or Friday in a professional office. The bright color of the skirt is a fun way to bring color into your office attire. I like the bright green, but you might also try this bright pink Land’s End skirt.
I chose this turquoise necklace to coordinate with the shades of blue and green in the outfit. For something more affordable, this Kendra Scott necklace is a stylish option. The shoes are a stylish version of the basic “nude” heel. You can also go with a simple version like these Michael Kors pumps.
Bottom Left. Topshop Unique Trousers ($147) // Off 5th Marcie Pump ($99) // Berry Jewelry Necklace ($21) // Elizabeth & James De Maria Ring ($64)
Wide leg trousers are back in style (thank goodness). These navy trousers pair well with this striped blouse. This Topshop pair can be worn in any season. If you’re in search of something more affordable, these Style & Co. wide leg pants and these Peyton bi-stretch flares are both good options. Plus-size? Try these Land’s End trousers.
I added the red necklace for a pop of color. This necklace would also look great layered onto a crewneck top in a red print. If you prefer to wear longer necklace, this beaded necklace with a red tassel is a chic option. I also added a strong gold ring. If you want something a bit more delicate, but with the same pop, this Elizabeth & James crossover ring is one of my favorites.
If you are wearing wide leg trousers, a pointed-toe pump lengthens the leg and makes you look taller. I like the lines on these simple pumps. If you prefer flats, these Sam Edelman Ray flats are a lovely choice.
Bottom Right. J Brand Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans ($175) // Scosha Drop Earrings ($92) // Corso Como Braided Slide Sandals ($64)
Just because it’s the weekend doesn’t mean you can’t look your best. Pair the bold striped top with a casual white jean for an easy summer look. You could also try a distressed white jean, like these $59 Articles of Society Jeans. If you prefer to add a bit of color, Old Navy’s Rockstar jean comes in a variety of colors.
I love these braided Corso Como sandals. They are a great summer slide with a lot of style. They also come in black or tan if you’re hunting for a neutral. Prefer a metallic? Try these Loeffler Randall double strap slides.
A simple, delicate earring completes the look. These drops are on sale at Net-a-Porter, and they are really beautiful. For a more affordable mother-of-pearl earring, try these elegant Anne Klein drops. If you’re not feeling the drops, try a pair of oversized gold hoops with a thin band.
Image blur strikes again!
Oh good, someone else thought it was blurry. I thought maybe I’d gotten drunk without realizing it.
But, let me comment on the substance too (sorry!): love this type of post, and I love the bright colors you’ve featured. Thanks!
me too
I have no idea what is causing this. So frustrating. I reloaded it, it seems to be fine now. Aargh.
Blurry again!
If you wear wide leg pants with flats, where should the hem hit? I know that if I buy pants like that I’ll have to have them hemmed, but I always struggle with how what length.
ps. I’m on internet explorer 11 and the image is perfectly clear.
Yes, blurry image for me too.
I also love to see these posts again. The image shows up blurry for me on the homepage, but when I click on it it opens (clearly) in a full screen window – so I can see it, but not it and the text at the same time.
The image doesn’t come over for me either, using both a feed reader and safari on my iPhone.
Hallelujah for the return of wide leg pants!
(I’m on Chrome, image seems fine.)
Loft makes the BEST trousers for my curvy bottom half, and they offer a 30-inch inseam too. I wish they came in more colors than black, because I would like to have at least 5 pairs!
Thank you for bringing this feature back! I’m on a limited budget, and even if I don’t have the exact item that’s featured, I find something similar to go with your suggestions and get a lot more mileage out of my wardrobe.
