1. Why women need to cultivate male allies at work to climb the ladder. (Crain’s)

2. For a unique black blazer, I’m kind of loving the sleeve details on this Theory jacket.  You also can’t go wrong with a simple tuxedo jacket, especially not for $50.

3. What happens if you ask powerful men how they ‘have it all’? (BBC)

4. The must-have, so comfortable Franco Sarto Dipali boots made the Nordy’s half-yearly.  Go, run, fast.

5. If Serena Williams were a man, she would have been considered ‘The Greatest’ a long time ago. (The Washington Post)

6. New at The Outnet: this printed Equipment silk tee, this delightfully unique Raoul blouse, and this easy striped dress.

7. On egg freezing, costs, and the pressure to ‘keep options open.’ (The Outline)

8. If balms are the “Swiss Army Knife of Skincare,” let me recommend Charlotte Tilbury’s Multi-Miracle-Glow balm.

9. For the Trumps, ‘Made in USA’ may be tricky label to stitch. (The New York Times)

10. This $62 NSR off-the-shoulder sweater dress is a great piece for finishing up the winter.  I also like this simple Caslon cowl neck dress for $79.

Bonus. Don’t let the metal bikini fool you, Princess Leia is a feminist icon. (National Review)

Re No. 9. – I always found the argument that Trump was a business man and that’s what this country needed as interesting, since it’s these same businesses and their need to constantly increase profits and dividends that exported all the US manufacturing jobs overseas where working conditions and pay for the workers (Trumps voter base) is so bad. It’s sad that they’ve evaluated making products in house and in the US and found that their bottom line can’t bear it, when I’m sure they are making plenty of money.

#10 – I got the NSR sweater dress a few months ago and ended up returning it. The fabric is fairly thin and is extremely clingy, so unless you’re wearing some serious shapewear it’s not comfortable to wear in public (and I say this as someone who doesn’t usually have an issue with clingy fabrics). I wasn’t comfortable wearing it even when I went a size up. However, it is SUPER soft and felt great on my skin, so YMMV.

Thank you for listing the Franco Sarto Dipali boot sale and emphasizing the urgency in swooping them up quickly! I bought them as soon as I saw them, and you’re right that they are wonderfully comfortable. I’m wearing them right now!

Another month has come and gone, and between a busy work schedule, illness and the search for new childcare, I almost forgot to ask for questions for the AMA.  Luckily, I remembered late last night.  So here we go. I always think it’s funny when people send rude or overly personal questions when I put […]

I love stocking stuffers.  They are the best part of Christmas.  There’s just nothing quite like an affordable gift that’s funny or useful or chic (or maybe all three).  So here is Part One of my stocking stuffer gift guides, where nothing costs more than $30.

Add to Cart: Five Recent Amazon Purchases

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
