1) How to maintain ambition through your entire career, instead of just at the beginning.

2) Looking for an inexpensive statement bracelet?  Express has a chic cabochon bangle.  I also like the look of these stretchy malachite bracelets layered.

3) Tinder and the dawn of the dating apocalypse.

4) This ‘ice pink’ Burberry trench is breathtaking.  I also like this affordable, flowy trench from Mango.

5) Inc. discusses the ‘3 Reasons Millennials Are Being Fired.’  Basically, their baby-boomer/Gen-X bosses don’t think the same way they do.

6) These Halogen studded pumps are so cool.  I also love the hair calf print on these flats.

7) Why is sperm donation completely acceptable but egg donation is still taboo?

8) This diagonal cape from ASOS is so chic.  It’s perfect for keeping warm on a plane (or on the campaign trail).

9) Politico offers the inside scoop on how to land a job on Capitol Hill.

10) Elie Tahari has some fresh gorgeousness on tap.  I love this bold, red dress.  And this mixed-media geometric-lace top is amazing.

11) Inside the secret world of Trader Joe’s.

12) The Outnet has amazing new arrivals, as always.  I’m kind of loving this parrot ring.

The Inc. article makes my blood boil, especially #2 and #3. We’re the ones that came of age during the recession and we’ve learned our lesson the hard way that we have to work twice (or more!) as hard just to get to where our parents were when they were our age. What anti-work attitude? I’m pretty sure that falls into the category of many teens and young adults of EVERY generation, not just the millennials.

As for #3, unless we work for a big tech employer in Silicon Valley, most of us don’t have these perks. The real reason a lot of millennials jump jobs is simply because we don’t get paid enough for our jobs. Raise our wages so we’re not either still living in our parents’ basements or struggling for rent in a high-cost-of living city every month!

Another blood boiler here! I love my millenial coworkers. They have so many new ideas and energy. They are our future.

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
