Can you do a post on how to style these?
Has anyone every seen one of these look good with curly hair?
I think hats are awesome, but hard to pull off in this day and age. I think you have to have major confidence! One of my favorite quotes from You’ve Got Mail, “Once I read a story about a butterfly in the subway, and today, I saw one! It got on at 42nd and off at 59th, where, I assume, it was going to Bloomingdales to buy a hat that will turn out to be a mistake, as almost all hats are.” – Kathleen Kelly.
In what setting/to what occasion would one wear this? I just can’t picture it.
This is excellent news for me. I have a small collection of hats that I only wear occasionally. Four velvets, a couple of nice fedoras, and a panama. They’d love to see the light of day. Whenever I wear them, people comment that hats aren’t worn enough these days.
And, Belle, I think there will officially never be enough Avery pictures in the universe. What a cutie! You are both so lucky.
Belle, Is it possible to do a post on how to style these? Thanks!
“Hats are tough” yes they are because you can’t just try on one in one color and size and it work and because they require an honest look on many levels. But what I have noticed is that in places like Seattle, Chicago, Portland, and some college towns, etc, is that they are also a necessity. One of the most shocking things for me when in Seattle last year was how women of all ages wore all kinds of head coverings with confidence in such well put together looks. As I live in a particularly cold place, I’m determined to embrace the trend and find the a perfect hat for myself, because darn it: I’m willing to try most about anything to stay dry and warm.
What were the other shocking things when in Seattle last year? Inquiring minds want to know.
Agreed, regarding the requests for a post on how to style hats. I love hats. I have a small collection myself, mainly from Goorin Bros., but like Tech Writer, they rarely see the light of day. I simply have no idea on how to actually incorporate them into my wardrobe. So they sit in pretty hat boxes in my closet.
Fedoras during the summertime are easy; but I’d love to see something on a cloche hat, or wool in general.
