Halogen 3/4 Sleeve Cardigan ($46)

When the J.Crew cardigans went to hell, I basically gave up on cardis.  Recently, I needed a couple to round out my “Hey, you have a job again” wardrobe.  I ordered a few from different brands; Halogen was the winner.

The cardigans were surprisingly good quality for a sub-$50 price tag.  They have a nice weight and a good shape.  And they come in a wide variety of colors and patterns.  They also come in petite and plus-size.

This cardigan is my favorite! I have it in a bunch of colors and re-order the basic black & white ones every year. The fun colors go on sale pretty frequently, so my closet is getting a bit full…

I live in Raleigh, NC and it’s starting to get hot here. Do you all wear cardis in summer? I feel like I’m melting during the brief periods I’m outside, especially if we leave the office for work.

  3. Michelle says:

Yes! Thank you! My latest JCrew Cardi is all stretched out and terrible and I bought a Banana one over the winter and it’s too tight and begs to be buttoned all the way up but that’s just weird. Will check these out.

I love this cardigan too and have it in a couple colors. Anyone have tips about cleaning it? The one that I put in the wash on a gentle cycle seemed to lose some shape and gain some stiffness to the fabric. But I loved it enough to buy a replacement with plans to be more careful. 🙂

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
