1) “A Day in the Life of Pinterest” — imagine if Pinterest was a person, The New Yorker presents a satirical documentation of her daily life.

2) Still hunting for summer sandals?  These Seychelles “I’ve Got a Secret” flats are really cute with a knot detail.  I also like these Joe’s sandals in a delightful copper color.

3) Elle reviews the forthcoming book Under the Bus, a counterpoint to Lean In.  The article addresses many issues like, why must work be a calling:

Work, as I’ve always understood it, isn’t a gentle, swaying sort of thing. It’s not full of opportunities for musing on work/life-balance. It’s where you go, when they let you, to make whatever money they’ll give you in exchange for your labor.

4) Looking for fewer ingredients in your beauty products?  I am one week in to using the S.W. Basics skincare line, with fewer than five ingredients in each product.  So far, loving it.

5) Another Picasso sold for a record sum, but is the public paying the price for the soaring market?

6) This green-onyx and rose-gold bracelet stopped me in my tracks.  For $49, Henri Bendel offers a malachite ring in a similarly striking green.

7) The New York Times discusses how Kris Jenner, the ultimate Mom-ager, redefined what it meant to be a celebrity.  (It’s an interesting, at times nauseating, read.)

  1. KC says:

Did anyone else notice the following at the top of the Joe’s page on Nordstrom’s website:

“Check out Pop-In@Nordstrom x Nike Women. Shop like a lady boss!”

What the heck is a “lady boss”?

  2. Niki says:

Love S.W. Basics products (they used to be Sprout I believe).

Also, I didn’t find the Elle review to be terribly helpful, it was so short! I think that’s the second time I have clicked over to an Elle book review and been disappointed.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
