1) How to Spend the First Ten Minutes of Your Work Day.

2) Call me crazy, but I kind of love this pale pink business suit.  For a more grown-up “pink,” Limited offers a dark mauve suit.

3) Buzzfeed covers how to break up with someone like an adult.  I agree on all counts.

4) This dress from Bailey 44 is the epitome of crisp, summer white.

5) Moving for work? Levo League has tips on how to maintain long-distance BFFs.  (It’s tougher than you think.)

6) I love this tote from Sole Society, such an interesting shape.  I also love this chic foldover clutch.

7) Magic Johnson is building an empire bringing corporate businesses to the inner city.  Fascinating read.

Levo League does have good suggestions, but I think an important note was left out. Sometimes, despite your best efforts and intentions, a friendship may not survive. Both of you have to try; one-sided efforts do not work.

Source: Been there, done that shit. Only recently had the wakeup call that my friend didn’t care to bother.

I love that pale pink suit too! Have you seen the WHBM pale pink business separates in store right now? There is a great tailored jacket and pants.

Belle, I don’t know if it’s my browser or your site, but when I click to open the comments on a post it loads in a new tab instead of the same one. This also happens when clicking back to older posts once I’m at the comments. I’m using IE 10 for reference. Thanks!

…but clicking on a link opens in the same tab :(. I’m using Chrome.

      • Belle says:

This has been an issue for months. The problem is the blog code says it’s opening them in new windows because that’s the default. We’re doing a total redesign coming in the summer, so I hate to say be patient, but it’ll get sorted then.

Until then, even it looks like you can get an extension for Chrome that will open all of your clicked links in a new tab on every site.

        • scmd2 says:

For me on both Chrome & Firefox the link to the comments in each post opens up in a new tab but the links in the post to the clothing items or reading items opens up in the same tab.

I mostly use my middle wheel to open up clothing items in new tabs so it’s not really an issue for me but thought your tech support might like to know.

    • Belle says:

Opening in a new tab is the default setting for clicking links on the blog, we do it so shopping links open in a new tab, but people tell me it doesn’t always work. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Saw It On Social: Rooted

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
