Morning Line: December 16

Dec 16, 2014

Basics that are worn frequently should be made to the highest quality that you can afford.  But for trend pieces, indulgences, occasion items, why not buy a mid-price or affordable piece that you can wear for the weeks that you love it and sell, trade, or donate later?

Recently, H&M has been killing it.  Every time I visit the site, I see a half-dozen things that I love.  And no section is better than their collection of jackets and outerwear.  Here are my favorites:

Wool Blend Coat ($129)

This coat is my absolute favorite, I keep putting it in my shopping cart.  Eventually I’ll pull the trigger.

Gray Faux-Fur Vest ($40)

Selling out fast; get it while it’s hot.

Light Pink Biker Jacket ($50)

I love the idea of pale pink biker jacket with grey trousers and a soft blouse.

Jacquard-Knit Cardigan ($40)

These blanket cardigans are a hot trend right now.  Try one with skinny jeans and a light sweater.

Perfect to wear with suit separates.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]

The Find: My Best Workout Shorts

For eight years, I have worn the same workout shorts. Every year, an influencer tries to sell me new shorts. I order them. I try them on. They pale in comparison to the shorts I already own. I return them.
