Morning Line: December 2

Dec 2, 2014

This week, I thought we’d talk about handbags.  The morning posts will feature the totes, satchels, and clutches that complete the majority of my outfits.  And every bag will cost under-$100.

Tumbled Leather Braided Satchel ($75)

A cognac tote is my casual, weekend, and vacation staple.  The cognac goes with nearly every color palette.  And I love the sculpted shape of this tote and the braided handles; it takes the casual bag and lifts it a notch.

Looking for a slouchier tote?  This Torrid bag is a great place to start.  Old Navy offers a relaxed tote for $22 that’s worth a look.  I also like this zippered tote from Neiman Marcus for a little extra flare.

Prefer a satchel?  I like the angular lines on this Steve Madden satchel and this Emperia Rikki Tote is a nice mix of tote and satchel.

Yay handbags! Looking forward to your under-$100 options.

And if you want to take a morning this week and talk about investment bags that can carry a laptop, lunch, and an extra pair of shoes, keep out prying hands on the metro, and still look professional and up-to-date, I’d love it. I have a Lo&Sons and it works fine, but I really wish there was a quality leather equivalent out there. (Oh Everlane, please make a bag that closes on top.)

Check out the fun and colourful line from Dreams in Colour for more bags under $100 (planning a beach getaway in the winter, then you need one of these!)

Shop great emerging designers from all around the world in one place. Wear something unique with a great story, from places like Uruguay, LA, NY, Sweden, Spain, Dubai and India.

I just bought the tumbled leather braided satchel and it was only $45 with some kind of extended Cyber Monday sale!

This is kind of random, and it may be only me, but I tend to click on photos thinking they’ll link to content. Yours only link to the attachment page. It might be more user-friendly to either turn off the linking or link to the content.

    Just a suggestion!

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
