Sweater: Boden Grace Sweater ($98)

From Left, Earrings: Ralph Lauren Pearl Studs ($24) Bracelet: Vince Camuto Cuff ($48) Bag: Minkoff Perry Satchel ($495) Skirt: Double Serge Wool Pencil Skirt ($130) Shoes: LK Bennett Stila Pumps ($289)

From Right, Earrings: Montery Gold Hoops ($39) Ring: Pretty Gold Ring ($12) Bag: Blake Small Satchel ($249) Boots: Vince Camuto Kadia Satchel ($162) Top: Boden Breton Tee ($38) Jeans: AG Legging Jean ($225)

For the Office. This outfit is a mix of earth tones and neutrals.  I initially thought I wanted an emerald-green skirt, but when I couldn’t find one, I went with olive.  I actually like it better.  If you’d prefer the deeper green, try this skirt from J.Crew Factory.  I also like this under-$20 teal skirt from JCPenney.

I like the sleekness of the funnel neck sweater, but some of you may be looking for something chunkier.  For that, I recommend this sweater from H&M with a unique cable knit.

Pearl earrings really bring light to your face when worn with an ivory top.  I chose these ones with the gold-tone bezel to match the cuff bracelet.  If you need something under-$25, this BCBGeneration chevron cuff is nice, as is this Topshop triangular cuff.

The shoes and bag are a mix of rich browns.  I like tortoise pumps, but they’re becoming difficult to find.  As a replacement, try a pair of dark brown heels.  And if you need tights, I recommend the nude fishnets that I’m always raving about.

For the hair, I’d wear it up.  Probably in a low twist.  For the makeup, a nude lip and a dark brown, gel eyeliner.

For the Weekend. I love layering a longer top under a 3/4-sleeve sweater.  The peek of print or color is a great way to add extra interest to the look.  It also offers my skin a layer of protection from the itchy wool.  I chose a simple, striped tee, but you could also try an ivory chiffon blouse for a mix of textures.

These distressed jeans are a great casual option.  For something less expensive, check out these $88 Blank jeans or these $35 Old Navy jeans.  Plus-size?  Try these Nordstrom Eloquii jeans.

I added a dark grey boot and a bright red bag for fun.  If you’re not crazy about the bright red, try this burgundy barrel satchel from Forever21.  I also like these fun gold hoops from Stella and Dot and the simple gold ring ($12? Yes, please.).  If you want a smaller hoop, I like these Gorjana Elea hoops.

For the hair, I would try a bouncy ponytail.  For the makeup, lots of black mascara and a sheer red lip.

Belle, what color pants/skirt should you pair with an olive blazer? I’ve seen it styled with black, but I’m not convinced…

I have an olive blazer that I wear with winter white, black and khaki-ish pants. very versatile. No fear, it really is a neutral. When I do this, the accessories put it together. Easy!

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

Ask the Editor: Vol. IV, No. Eighteen

Before we start today’s reader questions, I wanted to take a moment to talk a bit about mental health. For those who experience mental health challenges — whether occasionally or frequently — talking about our struggles is a double-edged sword.
