The Chic Blazer You Will Wear All Year Long

Halogen Stretch Peplum Jacket ($138)

There is a gap in the women’s suiting market.  Women are searching for affordable, stylish business suits, and they are nearly impossible to find.  Enter Halogen.

I wish they offered more skirt suits (it’s mostly pants), but when they sell blazers as gorgeous as this one (also in petite), who cares?I also love the leather trim on this more relaxed jacket.

Update: I was wrong, this does come with pants and a skirt.  I need both, STAT!

I have this blazer! I bought the matching pants, but returned them (weird fit on me, and unlined-ick). The blazer, though, I am very happy with.

First time commenter with maybe silly questions. Love this blazer and have been in the market. 1) How essential is it to wear it with the matching pants vs. other black pants? I know that’s probably ideal but… and 2) do you think this style will last for a little while? Thank you in advance – love the blog and am always searching it when I think of work-dress or work-makeup related questions!

I do think this style will be popular for awhile. The peplum is too severe, and the cut is nice regardless.

You should wear your jackets with matching pants because black dye varies in color from designer to designer, also uneven wear can make one item sorta black and one item true black. (which is why you should never dry clean your suit pieces separately, even if only one needs it) So I would recommend it together.

No question is a silly question. Okay, I take that back, almost no question is a silly question.

Thank you so much! Really appreciate it! This is always my issue – finding jackets and pants where I like the fit of both. (I know tailoring is an option to help, though obviously nice when not neccessary.) We’ll see – maybe in this case they’ll both work well! Thanks again.

I love this blazer! Love Halogen suits in general. I have a couple of them now, and I’ve noticed that they wear a lot better than some other suit brands I’ve bought at that price point.

I like the cut of their jackets… Except the sleeves. I’ve found them too long by about a half to 3/4 inch— enough that I want to have them shortened. But the working buttonholes on the few I’ve tried make that impossible! I’m not a petite and the too long sleeves just look like I don’t know enough to find a tailor! Nice range though for sub 500 suits.

I have to be honest–I’m still skeptical of peplum for apple shaped gals. What’s your opinion about this jacket on the upper sizes (12, 14, 15)?
