Asos Full Maxi Dress ($124)

Black-tie weddings have become more common over the past few years.  When invited to a black-tie wedding, you have two choices: a fancy short dress or a full-length gown.  I like to go the full-length route.  Why?  Because opportunities to wear a gown are few and far between.

This Asos gown isn’t overly fancy, but with the right accessories, it’s perfect for a summer wedding.  Asos has some other great options like this Embellished Shell Maxi and this coral Flutter Sleeve Maxi.

Looking for something more formal?  You may need to spend a bit more.  This Tadashi Shoji gown is $250, and it’s magnificent.  In the under-$150 price range, this Alex Evenings gown is interesting because it has convertible straps.  I also like this Adrianna Papell gown with a low-back and this cobalt, scalloped lace gown.

Petite? Try this lovely navy Ralph Lauren gown with sequin embellishments.  Plus-size?  This Adrianna Papell drape gown with a lace yoke is a stunner.

hmm…i kind of like it! except for the sequins, it’s pretty standard and classic, which is how i like to dress at weddings. wish i had somewhere to wear it though!
