Merona T-Shirt Blouse ($19)

Target is having a buy one item, receive 50%-off a second item sale.  While you might not think of Target for work attire, they have some solid, inexpensive basics in their wear-to-work shop.

This navy top in a crepe-like fabric would look great under a jacket or tucked into a skirt.  I also found this silky button-up shirt in a selection of prints.   If it’s a 3/4 sleeve you’re after, this blousy top comes in navy and a bold orange.  I’d also wear this sleeveless top with a ring-neck out to dinner or under a cardigan for Sunday brunch.

For dresses, I found this textured knit dress with a v-neck and a a-line skirt.  I think it would look great with a belt and brighter cardigan.  This sleeveless sheath is also a great option for layering under blazers and sweaters.  They also make a great ponte pencil skirt.

Target is also a great place to find inexpensive blazers.  I own this collarless blazer and I love it.  I’m also considering buying this drape collar jacket in black.

Target also carries most of its misses items in plus-size and petite, which makes it a rarity in the retail world.  So don’t miss their selection of items from those shops if you’d like a few inexpensive pieces to bulk up your work wardrobe.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
