Oasis Midi Dress ($123)

Asos is my favorite place to buy occasion and casual dresses.  Hands down.  Bar none.  This dress has a little drama in the back, and I love it.  It would be perfect for dinner and drinks or cocktail hour at a work conference.

If you’re looking for a dress that can go from the office to happy hour, try this black and white pencil dress.  It has a cap sleeve and defined waist.  I also like this black and white print midi dress.

Prefer a little color in your life?  This orange, twist front crepe dress is awesome.  I also like this flame red dress with a kimono sleeve and a cut-out back.  This teal tulip dress with a wrap front is lovely.  And don’t miss this textured Bardot dress with a slight off-the-shoulder, it’s perfect for summer weddings.

Plus-size: This crochet dress has a lovely boho feel.  I also like this teal midi-dress with a peplum.  Petite: This obi wrap dress is sweet, and this square neck pencil dress is chic.  Tall: This racerback peplum is ah-may-zing.

I’ve always loved the breadth of the choice at asos. They have work wear, evening wear, super cheap F21 type stuff, and super nice stuff too.

(And they offer stuff in a really wide range of sizes! Brownie points for being a good fashion citizen.)

      • Belle says:

They do a good job of having lots of sizes, and they have maternity. Plus, there isn’t a price point you can’t shop in. I wish more retailers saw this and used it as a model.

  2. Kate says:

The link for the orange twist front crepe dress instead goes to orange culottes on ASOS’ page. Pretty sure you didn’t mean those…

    • Anna says:

Oh man, those are hideous. Add a fanny pack and you’d fit right in with the summer tourists on the Mall.

    • Belle says:

NOT AGAIN! I’m sorry about this guys, I’ve complained to shop style about it. I’ll take care of it.

  3. Mo says:

Love the petite square-neck dress. Just ordered it, will report back!

    • Belle says:

Good, I was curious about that one cause it looks great.

      • Mo says:

After a very indulgent weekend, it is a tad snug in the rump (although would be a killer date dress). Debating whether it can be remedied with Spanx or a slip (it is unlined) or whether I need to size up. Possibly both.

  4. Alana says:

Love the white and yellow dress! I am a big fan of architectural clothing, but it’s hard to find affordable pieces. Any advice?

    • Belle says:

British retailers usually do a better job. Oasis is Brit. If you have some money to spend, try Karen Millen.

  5. Sarah says:

I LOVE the back of that dress!

  6. I love the back!!! Would love a post on bras and shape wear that our supportive and work with all of the unique backs and cut outs that our on trend.

  7. Alaina says:

The link to the obi wrap dress is also broken. I’m getting an orange leotard instead. I’m assuming you didn’t mean to link to that either!

Add to Cart: Five Recent Amazon Purchases

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
