A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]
It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
I’m a big fan of the sloan sheath (I saw an adorable polka dot version at BR this weekend) but I can’t justify the price tag. I’m hoping it’ll drop if I just wait long enough…

I got mine when dresses were on sale and used my friend’s BR card (she had a 40% off reward). Definitely don’t buy anything at BR full price, but this dress is so worth it.
Hi Belle,
I love the Sloan sheath! I’m actually wondering how best to style it for a cocktail event. Specifically, I’m pondering necklace or no necklace with that neckline and what to do with my hair. I would greatly appreciate any advice you could offer! Thanks!
Hi Belle, I have a similar dress, though it’s an a-line, with a built in belt just above the waist. Okay, so it’s a completely different dress, but you reminded me of it. Problem is, with my office being fairly casual, I don’t know how to style a dress like this for work when I need to be a crisp professional. Do I just have the wrong dress as a foundation piece?
Couldn’t have kept my job without your blog!

Add structure. A belt, a fitted blazer, etc. Choose pieces that have more structure to balance the shape of the dress.
