Halogen Prism Eyelet Skirt ($79)

I love eyelet.  Actually, my adoration verges on obsession.  It’s so breezy and flirty, the epitome of spring.

This eyelet pencil skirt from Halogen is a really interesting piece.  It’s outer layer long enough for work, and the inner layer is long enough that the skirt could be at home in a creative, casual or professional-but-not-conservative office.  They also make this Prism eyelet in a flirty, a-line dress.

Not crazy about the pencil shape?  I also found this box-pleated skirt from Calvin Klein that has a bit of an a-line shape.  And if you’re not crazy about the sheer detail, LOFT has a dark navy, pencil skirt that is solid throughout.

If you love eyelet, I highly recommend this MICHAEL Michael Kors top.  It’s the perfect combination of tailored and boxy.  LOFT also has this 3/4 sleeve top with an eyelet front.

Plus-size and petites?  The Halogen skirt also comes in plus-sizes, and petite sizes.  Tall?  The navy eyelet skirt from LOFT is available for taller ladies.

I have the Halogen A-line dress and love it. However, it is not warm enough to wear it yet without a cardigan or jacket. Belle, can you give styling advice for what to wear with the dress?

I’m a huge fan of eyelet too, though I’d never considered it in black. Usually my eyelet purchases are in the white or pastel range.

I love the dark eyelet I’ve seen around, but anything that outlines your legs through a sheet fabric seems inappropriate for work to me. I might get the LOFT one, though!

I love this, and it would be perfectly appropriate at my architecture firm. Does Halogen fit true to size?

Halogen skirts are the best! The Halogen skirt I have, I had to get taken in because sizing down was not an option, as the skirt was too tight. I think it depends on the material the skirt is made of.

I don’t think that answers your question, but I hope it’s helpful.

  5. I love eyelet too. Definitely going to try the Loft one. I know some people say eyelet is only for little girls, but I really don’t care.

    • Belle says:

I don’t buy that at all. Eyelet is for everyone, if they feel like a little girl in it, that’s their problem.
