Nude Textured Biker Jacket ($59 + 25%-off)
Soft pinks are everywhere this season, and this biker jacket is a very versatile piece. Not into the pink? The jacket also comes in a lovely navy.
Moto-jackets can be appropriate for work if they’re made of the right material, like this ponte Philosophy jacket or this crepe jacket from LOFT (also in petite and tall). But if you want more “biker” in your moto-jacket, try this dark grey H&M jacket or this DKNYC faux-leather jacket.
Plus-size? Try this Sejour stretch-cotton jacket.

Just wanted to thank you for helping me discover Dorothy Perkins. I can’t believe how great the pieces are for the price. Can you comment on the quality? I have yet to order anything yet, but I’m very tempted, especially by the jacket above in navy.

I love this in the navy. How does DP stuff fit? I’m in love with a ton of stuff from the website, but I have never bought from there before. Suggestions/tips?
I’d love to know more about fit as well. This jacket is fabulous and so affordable, but I’m not sure what size to buy.
Like most UK retailers, they do not believe in the vanity sizing of Banana, J.Crew, etc. I am a 0-2 in BR/J.Crew (5’3″, 114, 32D) and 4 (sometimes a 6) in DP.
I’d say they are on par with Reiss/Asos/Boden if you are familiar with their sizing. I size up and then tailor.
That has nothing to do with vanity sizing, it’s a different sizing scale. Just like European sizes are different. UK sizes are 2 sizes larger than US. From there, it varies by retailer, just as it does in the US.
Actually, both Dorothy Perkins and Boden state that they use “US” sizing on their US sites. However, in my experience, a DP or Boden “US 2” is not the same as a Banana Republic 2.
I stand by my statement to size up one to two sizes from your regular US size when purchasing from DP.
Side note, I’ve always been told I am a UK 8 or 10, so I am more than 2 sizes larger in UK. Go figure.
I kept seeing cute pieces from DP on various blogs. I finally pulled the trigger on a body con dress. One size up was pretty snug, even for a body com, and the cheaper fabric was unlined and unforgiving to say the least. The kicker is, while I got free shipping, I paid over $20 on the return for shipping back to the UK! Speaking of free shipping, if you use it, intnl packages cannot be tracked. My order arrived almost 2 months after ordering with various labels, etc. indicating it had “accidentally” been to Australia in route, but I knew nothing (nor did DP) the entire time I was waiting. I am a little bemused that no one ever seems to mention these shipping issues. Not everything comes ships to US via Australia, but you catch my drift. Some really tempting pieces and prices, but definitely in the not worth it category for me.
I love the light pink! I’ve been wearing the “Ponte and Faux Leather” jacket from Olive & Oak (on sale for $57 down from $120) at bloomingdales a lot lately and am happy to find one for spring… once the snow leaves of course. Good find Belle.
