Crate & Barrel Every Day Mug ($3)

A few weeks ago, I bought four basic white mugs like the ones above and personalized them using colored Sharpie markers and personalized them using this tutorial.  I am really happy with how they turned out, and I’m not crafty, by any means.  This would be a great gift to give co-workers, or have your kids personalize them and give them to relatives.

If you prefer your mugs pre-decorated, Crate & Barrel has a large selection of mugs from basic to beautiful.  West Elm also has a nice selection of coffee cups, including this sweet gold heart-printed coffee mug, and half of the proceeds from their charity mugs are donated to various non-profits (both are $10).  Nordstrom is carrying these whimsical Magpie alphabet mugs ($16) and these colorful Kate Spade mugs with a message written inside the rim ($20).

As for travel containers, Barney’s is selling these chic and simple Pantone color mugs for $17.  I own this Bodum 15-oz travel mug ($13) and I use it all the time for my morning tea.

Thanks for the gift and craft inspiration. So far we’ve done mugs and ALSO used the same technique on a solid color round christmas ball ornament. Now to convince my kids that they can do it too!

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
