Two Ways: Silky Navy Blouse

Top: Merona Chiffon Blouse ($20)

From Left, Ring: David Yurman Grey Pearl Ring ($1,300) Belt: Calvin Klein Collection Belt ($138) Bag: Ginger Square Rachel Bag ($193) Tights: JCrew Super-Opaque Tights ($25) Boots: Pura Lopez Grey Bootie ($440) Sweater: Collection Cashmere Cardigan ($188) Skirt: Tory Burch Tweed Skirt ($378)

From Right, Earrings: Kors Link Hoops ($95) Bracelet: Sole Society Stretch Bracelet ($25) Watch: Kors Gold Plated Chronograph ($250) Bag: Madewell Kensington Satchel ($198) Boots: Zara Flat Leather Boot ($179) Sweater: Cozy Time Cardigan ($33) Jeans: J.Crew Toothpick Jean (sold out)

For the Office.  I love the look of a tweed skirt during the colder months, and this navy skirt has great mix of colors and textures.  Should you need something wallet-friendly, try this super-chic NW3 skirt from ASOS or this basic tweed skirt from Ann Taylor.  Plus-size?  Try this skirt from Coldwater Creek.

To pair with the navy skirt, I selected navy tights and grey boots.  However, if you prefer pumps, try these dark grey suede pumps from Naturalizer or these navy pumps from Ivanka Trump.

I added a basic grey bag and a coordinating belt to complete the look.  In this case, I would belt over, not under, the cardigan.  Clueless about how to belt a cardigan or blazer?  Check out this YouTube video from J’s Every Day Fashion.

Lastly, I added a grey pearl ring because I love how the color of the gem coordinates with the colors in the sweater.  Can’t afford Yurman?  Try these Majorca pearl earrings or this Yurman-inspired open bracelet.

For the hair, I would wear it down and curled under at the ends or wavy.  Hot rollers should do the trick.  For the makeup, I would recommend a soft berry lip like Fresh Sugar Plum and a good coat of black eyeliner.

For the Weekend.  How fabulous is this blanket cardi from Forever 21?  And the price, unreal.  I also love this soft, open-knit cardigan from LOFT and this great black and white sweater from ASOS.  Perfect for chilly winter days.

I put up these J.Crew jeans last night, but they sold out before morning.  I suppose that happens when things are 40%-off.  Instead, check out this pair of distressed skinny jeans from LOFT, or spend a bit more on this pair from Hudson.

I originally planned to use a short boot for this outfit, but decided on the chocolate tall boots from Zara instead.  I just like riding boots better, even though my dislike for shorter boots has waned as the styles have improved.  And since I don’t like to exactly match shoes and purses (if I can help it), I chose this cognac Madewell bag.  It’s a great size for those of you looking for a bag to take on the airplane.

For the jewelry, I chose a chunky watch and a stretchy bracelet with some color that could hold its own on the same wrist as the watch.  I also picked some hoop earrings with a unique shape.  If this Kors pair is out of your price range, check out this square pair from Natasha Couture for $22.

For the hair, I would wear it up in a braided bun.  For the makeup, I would wear a red fingernail, like OPI red, and a sheer red lip, like Lola Cosmetics sheer gloss.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
