Blouse with Front Detail ($60)

Collarless, semi-sheer blouses are one of my staple pieces.  I like how easy they are to layer under sweaters and blazers.  They also look great with a scarf.  Or you can just wear them alone with a pencil skirt or trousers.

This white one from Zara has a bracelet sleeve, a detailed front and a keyhole back.  I also like this Yenna blouse from Club Monaco with a ruffle on the front, and this gorgeous Theory Edera blouse with grey details on the placket and cuff.  If you’re looking for something under-$100, check out this Trouve silk blouse from Nordstrom.

Plus-size ladies should this pleated neck top from INC.  The same brand also has a petite split-neck blouse.

Need undergarments for a semi-sheer blouse?  Choose either a smooth nude tank or one in the same color as the blouse.  I like Shimera seamless camisoles (also in plus-size).  I prefer to wear them with a strapless bra, but if you need to wear one with straps, switch out the cami for a Shimera tank with wider straps (also in plus-sizes).

Beautiful shirt but I have a problem with these kind of sheer fabrics that are of a high poly- blend… I find that they aren’t breathable. I sweat more and then the shirts stain and the BO smell is tougher to wash out, even with dry clean. How do you deal with this issue, if you have it?

Belle, do you think these are appropriate under a suit for a job interview in a very formal industry? I have one on Friday and am trying to find the perfect shirt (I hate collared shirts under my suits).

Belle, I love this top and tried the Shimera camisole at your recommendation. I love the Shimera but they are so long on me – I’m only 5’2″. Any recommendations?

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
