French-Knot Pointy Skimmer (Madewell, $98)

I loathe, detest and despise those flimsy little bows on ballet flats.  They’re not a faux pas.  I just can’t stand them.  But a more substantial bow with structure and a modern flare?  I’m all over that.

These pointy-tie skimmers from Madewell come in this delightfully versatile cognac, a black suede and an orange-y/red suede.  They’re the perfect complement to wider-leg pants, esp. denim for casual wear.

If you like the look of a structured bow in a classic shape, this Kate Spade Trophy Flat bears a noticeable resemblance to the much more expensive Ferragamo Varina Flat.  For under-$150, I found this Michael Kors Delphine flat and these Louise et Cie Erica flats.

If you’re after a more modern look, these Loeffler Randall Stella flats have a slim, studded bow. In the under-$50 category, I found these pointed-toe bow flats from Express that are to.die.for.

    I really, really like those!

Ooh, love them. It’s so hard to find pointy toed flats – thank you!

I bought these about a month ago and have been wearing them to death. I’m actually wearing them right now! 🙂

Just a word of caution…I had to return the first pair because they were extremely small. They will stretch as you wear them, but you want to go up at least a half size or even full size.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
