Billie and Blossom Cobalt Pleat Crepe Dress ($49)
I love cobalt. It’s a color that works in any season, and looks great on almost anyone. And this inexpensive dress with pleated waist details and a slight cap sleeve is a great work dress. If you’ve never tried cobalt before, give it a try. I have yet to meet someone who didn’t look beautiful in this vibrant shade of blue.
Speaking of cobalt, I tried on this DvF Raquel dress ($178) yesterday, and I loved it. The fabric is a good weight and the color is beautiful. I also loved this Tahari sleeveless dress with a pleated neckline and this inexpensive drape dress, which is also from Dorothy Perkins.
Plus size: Try this Salon Z cap sleeve sheath that is perfect for work. Petite: I love this Tahari half-sleeve dress with waist details.
That DVF dress is gorgeous. Belle, did you think it was too form-fitting or clingy for the office?
Love this dress. Have you ever ordered from Dorothy Perkins before? I was wondering if you’ve ever had to pay for shipping to ship something back, and if so, how much it cost. Always nervous about sizing when I order something from a new place.
I was going to ask this, too. There are a lot of dresses from Dorothy Perkins shown on this blog (which I LOVE, by the way!), but I’ve read very negative reviews of their customer service online. Belle, have you ever personally ordered from them? What was your experience? Thanks!
Why oh why does DvF love the middle seam? This color is beautiful and I’ve never considered wearing it before.
Thanks Belle.
Love the dress, but I’m always hesitant about cap sleeves. And now it’s on sale! …Oh wait, it’s out of stock in my size. Bummer.
How forgiving was the fabric on the DVF?
It had a decent amount of stretch. I tried on the S, and it was form fitting but stretched some. I would have gone up to the M though to make it more appropriate for work, you might not need to though. I’m just in between sizes right now, and DVF runs small.
