Zara Plush Dress ($59)

This dress is a neutral color.  It’s cut in a classic, professional silhouette complete with slimming side pleats.  It’s actually comfortable.  You can wear it during three seasons of the year–spring, fall, winter.  It’s machine washable.  And it costs less than $75.  Are there other boxes to check, or does that pretty much cover it?

I thought so.

I also love this Carven jersey sheath with a pleated neckline.  If you’re in the market for a pop of color, this green Reiss dress has been on the blog before and is still a winner.  And if you have a little cash to spare, this striped 10 Crosby dress has been in my Piperlime cart for a bit (though I’ll def. be waiting for a sale).

Plus-size: I had no idea Amy Byer made plus-size clothing, but I kind of love this charcoal surplice dress.  Petite: This Lauren colorblock dress with cap sleeves is a must buy.

I do really like everything about that dress, too, except for the painfully boring way Zara styled it. The pictures give me zero idea how it will look on a real body with curves or with decent shoes. However, all complaints aside, I do trust your endorsement and am going to try it out.

Yeah, it doesn’t look flattering to me at all, but that probably has more to do with the bad lighting/bad model/bad styling.

  2. Belle says:

Even the model looks bored with how they styled it. Check back at 1pm for Two Ways to wear it.

  3. Helena says:

The model looks angry, not bored, to me. Maybe it’s because of the hideous shoes they made her wear.

  4. Meredith says:

Wow, I love this dress. May have to zip over to Zara to try one on. Thanks for another amazing find!

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
