I got a Botkier bag two months ago on Ruelala and I loooooooove it. I had never really paid attention to the brand before but now I always pick them up when I’m at department stores. The leather and hardware quality is great. Very well ‘thought out’ if you will and organized. A liiiittle on the heavy side. Go with the Botkier for sure.

  2. Chloe says:

Would love a redo of this post but with silver hardware! Can’t stand gold, and have been searching for months for something amazing in black, gray or cognac.

  3. Jenn L. says:

Oh Burberry – you make my heart ache so.

  4. ohraq says:

love that you added lobbyist as a tier!

    • Jules says:

Yes, but shouldn’t lobbyist be the highest tier? *wink*

      • Belle says:

Not in my world. I still make less than a congressman, and I think most lobbyists probably do. You gotta remember that a lot of us work for 501s and small orgs where the money isn’t the dollaz you see at a big firm. Maybe some day.

  5. Megs says:

Coach legacy Harper in black with silver hardware. The coach Harper bag is great, 3 separate zipped compartments and a front turn lock flap pocket. It’s a quality bag that will hold up well. I have last year’s version in a tan color and love it.

  6. I love black and gold for work bags. It’s so chic. For the elected official category though I don’t think Burberry makes the best quality bags. For indestructibility in the same price range I’d go with a used LV epi leather something that’s in good shape. I’ve had mine for almost a decade and it still looks new. Also, that Kent in the tan color is speaking to me.

  7. Denise B says:

I’ve been in the market for a structured black satchel, but I just can’t seem to find one that I like in my price range. (I need some pockets for organization, is that so much to ask?) Do you generally use shopstyle to browse for specific items like this across retailers? Or do you have any other tips for someone who wants to browse as widely as possible in order to say within budget?

  8. AJ says:

Belle, off subject but a heads-up that Gilt City DC is running a deal for Hanky Panky $30 for $50 voucher or $60 for $100 voucher and you can get 25% off using CITYJULY25! Happy shopping.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
