10th Commandment: June 6

Jun 6, 2013

13 years ago today, I graduated from high school.  Is 9:30 too early for a cocktail?  Let’s see if we can’t dull this pain with jewelry.

Ann Taylor Starlet Bracelet ($38)

Sometimes I get on a kick about a certain color or a certain style…right now, I’m on a bracelet kick.  Every day, I’m wearing a bracelet.  Big chunky bracelets.  Medallion bracelets.  Delicate chain bracelets.  Pointy pyramid bracelets.  You get the picture.

I love this modern, sleek take on the charm bracelet.  The rose gold has a lovely color too it, not too orange, not too pink.  Layer it with other rose gold pieces–like this simple bangle and this stone cuff–or wear it alone.

Want color on your wrist?  I found this pink enamel bracelet from Piperlime that I adore.  This turquoise and resin cuff reminds me of stained glass.  I also love this faceted stone bracelet.

If it’s pure metal that you’re after, this Camuto basics cuff (in gold and silver) is still my favorite.  For $48, it has a lot of style.  The ‘Bolts’ bracelet from Marc Jacobs comes in all three metals and is one of the most interesting and cool bracelets I have ever seen.

Forever 21 has some cut metal bracelets that are inexpensive and impactful.  They have a chevron bracelet, an infinity bracelet and a delicate feather pattern.

Looking for a delicate bracelet? Something dainty and thin?  This station chain bracelet is sweet.  This nail head skinny cuff is just the.best.ever.  And if you’re looking for variety, Etsy is where it’s at.

But if I were just going to buy one bracelet, it would be this cut lucite and resin bangle.  Heck, at $28, I’ll probably buy both color combinations and stack ’em up for a real statement.

I really like the Forever21 options. The Ann Taylor bracelet is very cute but honestly I can’t bring myself to spend that much on a bracelet unless there’s something particularly special about it.

That’s funny, I just dug out my a bracelet that was a high school graduation gift (12 years ago, in my case) and started wearing it again. It’s a Tiffany box chain that will never go out of style.

I was writing a check at my doctor’s office this morning and realized the EXACT same thing. June 6 is the date I graduated from high school…many years ago. Bizarre.

And this Ann Taylor is lovely. I can’t really deal with dangling pieces from bracelets, but if I could, I would get this.

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
