Two Ways Slit Skirt

For the Office.  A white skirt can be difficult to wear to the office.  The way I see it you have two options: all white, or a tonal mix of pattern and solid on top.  In this case, I chose a patterned navy top and a navy jacket.

This waterfall jacket is a great price, but I know some of you are antsy about UK-retailers, so I also found this under-$100 navy suit jacket.  Plus size? Try this one -button jacket. Petite? How about a shawl collar jacket?

I chose this tie neck blouse in a mix of blues and white, but I also like sleeveless Banana Republic blouse.

Also, how great is this ring?  I adore the lapis-like stone and the shape.  It’s part of a new Lucky collection that I am falling hard for right now.  I especially love this Indian-inspired necklace and this dark citrine ring.

As for the shoes, I wanted them to match the belt, and you would not believe how difficult it is to find grey high heels that aren’t 10″ tall or sparkly.  It was like a Grail Quest.  I did locate this inexpensive suede shoes and a pair of standard leather ones.

I also love this vintage-inspired bag.  Michael Kors is killing it with his bags right now.  Classics like this one and the Selma tote, and edgier pieces like this Bedford Bowling bag.

For the hair, I would wear it up in a Gibson roll.  For the makeup, I would wear a red, glossy lip and some highlighter.

For Cocktails. I own the DvF top in this post, and it is wonderful.  The blouse is a great mix of trendy and classic with a honeycomb embroidery, blush silk trim and grown-up black sequins.  It’s also currently on sale and sizes are running low, so if you are interested, I would dive on it.  If they don’t have your size, there is one other shop that has it in stock, but it’ll cost you.

Pairing the top with the white skirt is a very clean, crisp look.  I added the modern, strappy heel to balance it out and keep up the sex appeal.  If you want a similar shoe for less, these Guess shoes are $70 and these Forever 21 sandals are $23.

I love the perforated details on this clutch.  Need a cheaper one?  Try this Rachel Roy clutch.  Prefer something basic? Try this Harlow envelope clutch.

For the jewels, it’s rose quartz earrings and inexpensive, versatile stack bracelets.  Need a less expensive earring?  These from Max & Chloe are $90 or these silver/rose ones for $24.

For the hair, I would wear it either up and wavy or down in a bouffant style.  For the makeup, a nude lip, smoky black liner and dark grey polish.
