J.CREW Sera Top in Traced Medallion ($80)

I have been patiently waiting for this blouson, printed top to go on sale for weeks (because I will not pay full price at a retailer who averages one sale per month).  I like the ivory and grey color scheme, the blousy cut and the covered buttons on the placket.  This top will pair well with jeans and a sweater for casual Friday or under a business suit for summer meetings.

This diamond printed blouse is also nice, as is this dotted top. I also liked If you’re looking for something in a color, this soft, minty-blue is really pretty.

If your looking for a plus size top, the sleeveless options are limited, but I did find this bright citron blouse.  If you prefer sleeves, I found this gorgeous deep raisin blouse as well.  If your petite, the top above comes in your size, as does this 3/4 sleeve lace blouse.

Don’t forget — you can use the extra 30% off at J.Crew on this blouse.

  2. Catherine says:

I went in a couple days ago & I was so excited to score several Blythe blouses (one can never have enough silk blouses) AND specifically I was excited about the Sera top in Lavender for spring. Unfortunately I found that this top does NOT work well with larger-chested, small-waisted short-girls, such as myself. The style was simply overwhelming…but not in the good way 🙁

  3. AD says:

Sorry Belle – I truly hope this top works for you, but as a JC sales associate I can report that this top is terrible on most everyone. It’s cut too short for the “average” woman, but still manages to look awkward on short girls because it’s so blouson. It makes petite girls look big, and average to heavy girls look chunky. And it’s too billowly and short to properly tuck into a pencil skirt/trousers. It’s a very odd top, and our sale rack at the store is packed with every size and color.

  4. Terri says:

Well. I admit I bought the top and I’m hoping it works out as it was on final sale, plus the discount. Even if I have to alter it in some way it is a good buy.

  5. Meg says:

I have to agree- while I loved this top in theory, it was a disaster on my petite-ish frame.

  6. Whitney says:

I bought this top when it first rolled out and promptly returned it. Not great for women with larger chests. If you do try it, size down *2* sizes.

  7. Terri says:

I don’t have the blessing of large breasts, nor am I petite. I did buy a smaller size…so here is hoping.

  8. Jen R says:

i bought this top after trying it on and loving it. still loving it! i have a fairly ample bosom, and it still looks great.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
