1. Mary Katrantzou Babalona Dress ($4,070) // 2. Sigerson Morrison Coline Sandal ($425) // 3. 3.1 Phillip Lim Muscle Tee ($195) // 4. Helmut Lang Overlap Top ($335) // 5. Astley Clarke Labradorite Ring ($193) // 6. Thea Croc Clutch Bag ($85) // 7. Sigerson Morrison Ariel Sandal ($295)

One.  If you were in the mood to spend two month’s pay on a dress, this gorgeous, printed Jacquard party dress would be an excellent choice.  I love the mix of pastels and the shimmering, but not too shiny, look.  Jacquard has made a comeback for spring, and if you’d like a printed dress that won’t have the landlord knocking on your door, this pastel floral number has a cool, structured shape.  I also like this bold teal dress and this chevron-printed, full-skirted dress, both under-$100.

Two and Seven.  Sigerson Morrison has.the.best shoes this spring.  The Coline sandal is on my lust have list (not a typo) and the flat strappy Ariel sandal isn’t too bad either.  I also like these flat ankle strap sandals, these laser-cut ballet flats and these metallic braided sandals.

Three.  A clean cut basic like this unfortunately named “muscle” tee has a lot of uses.  I wear mine with a cardi and jeans and tucked into a printed pencil skirt.  Want a similar look for under-$100?  I like this bright lime shirt, this soft mauve one and this dark teal one.

Four.  I adore the asymmetric drape on this tank.  I also like this sleek spaghetti strap halter Helmut Lang made this season.  It would look great under a slouchy, open neck sweater.  I also found this drape silk tank and this asymmetric top for under-$50.

Five. I’ve been having a bit of a love affair with labradorite.   I love the deepness of the gray stone with flecks of teal, navy, mauve and gold.  I found a similar ring for $75, and this chunky faceted ring for $63.  I also adore this labradorite station necklace, these chain drop earrings and these sleek studs.

Six.  Dark teal was a hot color for fall, but I think it could easily carry over to spring and summer.  This croc-embossed clutch would look lovely with a cocktail dress for a summer wedding.  I also love this dark teal one shoulder dress and the dramatic neckline on this sequin dress.  But if you want your teal crush contained to a handbag, this under-$150 tote is pretty chic, as is this domed Dooney & Bourke satchel.

  1. Definitely want #5 & #7. Nude shoes are a spring must. I love how they can blend in with skin-tones and create longer lines.

I also loved the Sigerson Morrison laser-cut flats, but they were out of my price range. Thankfully Forever 21 has a similar style (in black and coral) for only $25. https://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=shoes&ProductID=2019319881&VariantID=

Saw It On Social: Rooted

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
