Aldo Heliette Pump ($80)

I’ve featured this shoe before, and I love it so much, I had to use it for a Two Ways post.  I adore the mix of snakeskin and cognac leather, and the ankle strap is a big trend for the spring.  They also come in black and nude.

Like the look of snakeskin but want something higher and more sophisticated?  These Sabrina pumps from Classiques Entier have the height and a vintage feel that is pure silver screen starlet.  Perfection for $110.

If you prefer a more basic ankle strap pump, these Ivanka Trump patent leather pumps ($135) are as basic as they come.  And if you need something less expensive, these ASOS double strap pumps are just $42.

However, if you are in the mood to spice it up, I would start with these J.CREW ankle straps.  They come in several gorgeous color combinations that are sure to be a hit this spring.  And if toe caps are the trend you’re interested in, these phenomenally stylish Jeffrey Campbell shoes come in several fabulous colors and are sure to draw compliments.

What is the appropriate way to select an ankle strap shoe so that the strap does not make your legs look stumpy? I worry that my athletic not willowy legs will look short and squaty in ankle straps, so I’ve shied away from them.

  2. Lauryn says:

Does anyone own these shoes and are they comfortable? I bought a pair of Aldo pumps 2 years ago and (even with inserts) they still killed my feet.

    • LS says:

I haven’t tried these, but in general I totally agree! The one (or two?) pairs of Aldo heels I’ve bought were criminally uncomfortable.

  3. Yellowrose says:

Belle, Do you have some snakeskin shoe options withOUT the ankle strap?

The Mondays: July 22, 2024

The Crowdstrike/Microsoft Meltdown forced me to take a few days off this weekend. No laptop. No billable hours. So we packed Sloane up for a visit to a local llama farm, stopped by the pool, went for coffee, etc. Few things are as funny as watching a 23-month old feed carrots to a ravenous rescue […]
