I think tortoise shell pumps are a great alternative to chocolate brown leather pumps. They pair well with brown, with black, with bright colors, and they can stand in for nude pumps in the spring when you’re not quite ready for nude shoes. I also think they have a rich, classic look.

Just bought a pair of patent leather tortoise shell pumps from Franco Sarto. They are on sale at Piperlime for $79. On first wear, they are pretty comfortable. It's a stacked heel with a small platform in the toe, but nothing too outrageous for the office. Very pleased with them!
